We are leaving early tomorrow morning for a week in WDW with my extended family, most of whom have not been there in many years. I am planning to take them to MK on Saturday night to see Spectromagic and Wishes, since it is the only night we can be at MK when both are shown. In the past, I have always gone to Pecos Bill's in Frontierland to watch the parade (so I could sit down while waiting for it to start) and then walked up to the hub in front of the castle to see Wishes (to see Tinkerbelle fly over my head). Since I will have my parents (who are in their mid to late 60's) with me, I am wondering if this is the best plan of "attack," so to speak. Is there a spot near the hub of the castle where we could sit while waiting for the parade, watch the parade and then see Wishes without having to change viewing spots? We are planning to arrive at MK about an hour before the parade starts to stake out our "territory." I would welcome all opinions and/or suggestions. Thanks!

Right now there are construction walls up around the hub. So no seating there. There isn't a lot of seating in that area unless you sit at Casey's or Plaza area.

Are you going to be there Thursday? The scedule shows both Spectro and Wishes that night. It should be less crowded then, since it's not the weekend.

Thanks for the replies so far!

Ms. Lefty: Yes, we will be there Thursday, but we are going to the Hoop Dee Doo dinner at 7:15 p.m. that night, so we won't be able to be at MK then.

If anyone else has any advice to offer, I'm all ears! Thanks again!!

I'm assuming that there is still standing room in the hub for Wishes, right? Any other good places to watch Wishes from (Spectro doesn't matter to us)? We will either be there this Saturday night or on Tuesday (more likely).

When we were there in Oct we were able to find benches to sit on on that little walkway out by the water across from Tom Sawyer's Island. There is a little boathouse alcove with a bench in it and then there is another bench out on the walkway. We pulled both of them in front of the boathouse and sat in rows to watch the fireworks. You enter the walkway either across from splash mountain or across from the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon (now called Goofy's?) This was great for us because we were in the same predicament as you. We had 2 sets of older people with us so a couple who weren't that into the parade saved the benches and the rest sat on the parade route.

It was lovely because it was soooo secluded.

What about sitting at the train station? Great viewing for both, with the exception of having Tinkerbell directly overhead.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I appreciate the help. Have to grab a few hours sleep now before the drive down to WDW!!! :cool1: Everyone have a good week!
