These are three dinners that I was kicking around for our Oct trip...I have three nights with nothing planned and I am drawing a total blank....we have never been to these places before and since we have our own car it is easy to get to the other resorts or just drive to wherever we want to eat

Would appreciate the good, bad and ugly...pics would be great too!

Thanks guys!

I can't advise based on personal experience, but I've been researching like crazy lately and:
1. I'd stay away from Shutters, based on the AWFUL review it got from Kevin on the DIS Podcast recently.
2. Henry Work of TouringPlans.com/Betamouse podcast is a big Rose & Crown fan.

well my grandson has a good word for the food at Boatwright YUCKY - it is the worst place I have eaten on property

We have dined at Boatwrights. In my opinion, it is nothing to write home about, but we did have good food and service. If you are doing Boatwrights, my advice would be to make the most of your evening by seeing Bob (evening entertainer) in the bar (fun for whole family), going on a carriage ride, or taking a boat ride to DDT. This could make for a great night!

Well this is not sounding to promising...the post about Shutters has me sick...gross looking pics and a terrible review.

I like the sound of the jambalaya and prime rib at Boatwrights...Rose & Crown still sounds ok, unless you guys say otherwise :goodvibes

Welcome back !! Have you been gone from the boards for a while? :yay:

Shutters....ewwww....don't waste your time

Boatwrights..... I always thought this was a great place. Not a "foodie" experience or anything, but terrific jambalaya. If you're staying at POR then I'd go, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. (we were staying at POR when we ate there)

Rose and Crown...don't have any experience here. we were going to book that for our Sept trip but I read so many horrible things that we changed gears and decided against it....

The food at Boatwrights is ok....I remember the dessert being the best part. We had just been to Kona the night before and had their prime rib and then my dad and brother got the Boatwright prime rib (because nothing else sounded good to them) and it didn't compare to how good Kona was.

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but one thing that was nice is that even with a full restaurant it seemed a little quieter dining experience than some of the other restaurants.

I can't comment on the other two options.

Thanks! Yes I have been off the boards since we had our last trip in November...so much stuff going on in our lives (all good stuff though!) that we have been too busy to get away but that is going to change come this Oct and both of us are sooooo excited and cannot wait!!

Well good, I'm glad to hear all is well and that you're going back! I can't tell you how much you helped me decide our dining plans for Sept just from reading all your fantastic reviews! So a big thank you to you !!! :thumbsup2

Good to have you back MickeyNicki! Of these three restaurants we've only tried Boatwrights and have no plans to return there in the future. The pot roast that I had was just okay and the service was not Disney's best. For the most part we've been trying many of the other restaurants that you've recommended.

I can only comment on Boatwrights, We did not like the food at all. the service was good, but we left with half our dinners untouched.

Rose and Crown - we go there every year. Usually get an outside table at 7:40 and watch Illuminations from our table. We love the fish & chips.

Boatwrights - we enjoy it. Prime rib is very good. So is the cornbread. We're going again this year. We stay at POFQ so it is convenient.

Hi, gf. We've eaten at Rose & Crown a number of times and have always had good meals and good service. We have never done Shutters (it gets crucified in most reviews I've read). We did Boatwright's in 2007 -- we WON'T be going back. The food was not worth the price, the service was non-existent, it was very noisy as it is between the bar where Piano Bob plays and the Food Court (it wasn't as bad as WCC or H&V, but it was darn close).

Thanks for the tip babe....I think we will do R&C for one of the nights and on arrival night I will stick with what we know and go to Citricos

BTW, are we under 40 yet? I THINK SO!!!!

Not counting today (because I rule today as already off the count), we are at 41 days until we land in Ft. Myers and drive to Disney World. That makes it 46 days until I'm at Starbucks having coffee with you at Marco Island and finalizing our "girls" day plans, etc. I am so excited and just can't wait. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

My DW and I prefer Rose and Crown. The food is really good. We have the fish and chips or the steak. Eat inside when it's hot and outside when you feel comfy.

If you make ressies for around 7:30 you can eat and then stay for the fireworks in their seating area, it's on the water, so get close to the edge and bring your camera. Great viewing.:woohoo::cloud9:

We liked Rose and Crown and hated Boatwrights, have not tried Shutters

The folks at Shutters have always treated me very well when I've gone there on a special diet, and, while not denying anyone's unmemorable experiences, I've always had good meals there.

And I've very much enjoyed my two or three visits to Boatwrights.

My meals at Rose & Crown, however, have almost always left me disappointed.
