Hey everyone... I was hoping maybe some of you Disney Vets could offer a bit of help with my planning. I have been to The World a bunch of times and almost always during the Christmas season (Dec). This year I am planning Nov 9 - 16 and have a few questions.

First things first... How is the weather typically? I have never been rained out of a vacation and am worried since this is still in Hurricane season. While I know weather can't really be predicted like that, an idea of past times would be great. And speaking of weather.. can I add Water park at gate for the same price as pre purchase if it is beautiful that week? We have never been and would like the option later on.

How are the crowds? Looks like this is after Jersey week and most of Food and Wine. Is there anything I am missing that may affect crowds?

Are the holiday decorations complete by this time or are there still crane's up and such? I love going when everything is done and Nothing mars the beauty of the parks.

I have so much to do to get this planned since I am going against my 1st week of Dec. plans that were in place already. Any insight I can get for this time period would be greatly appreciated. I frequent this board for tips and such quite a bit and value any opinions.

Thanks..
Becky

I had this same exact question a week ago but I did not receive to much feed back for some reason so I am hoping you do.

I can say that I was there until November 9th last year and was thinking of switching to this period. I am sure it is not too much of a difference from when I went. The weather was perfect. The crowds were good. Nothing crazy. We had a beautiful time.

I just wanted to make sure there was not something about this period that I was missing because can be so drastically different from week to week depending on events etc. Eager to hear what advice you get.:)

Been there twice in the last four years during that time - those exact dates in 2010, and 13-20 last year.

In 2010, it was gorgeous - no clouds until the 15th, highs kissed 80. It did get cool at night (low 60s, even upper 50s). Last year, it was a bit colder - highs in the upper 60s, lower 70s, and it poured on our DHS day, but we were still able to do it. Not sure about the water park option, but it wasn't really warm enough for us to consider it. We went in the pool once on the hottest day the first trip, and skipped it last year.

Crowds aren't bad at all. WS at Epcot is a ghost town the day after F&W ends. I'd recommend you go to F&W at least once (preferrably not a weekend) to see what's there; there's a lot of good food and plenty of alcohol. We found MK a little more crowded this time than 2010, but nothing major, and most non-big rides were 15 minutes at most, with a lot of walk ons.

It's my understanding that the holiday decorations are done on 11/2 or thereabouts every year. You're not going to get the full experience as you would in mid-December at Epcot, but you'll be able to go to MVMCP. When we arrived on 11/9 in 2010, all of the decorations were up, as well as the Osborne lights at DHS.

Have a great time!

We were there mid november the week before Thanksgiving and it was perfect. The weather was great, the crowds were low. I would go back then anytime.:goodvibes

We often go the beginning or toward middle of November and find the crowds aren’t bad. The weather is typically cooler in the evening and morning but warms up during the day and is comfortable and not humid, however, that isn’t always the case. We have been in November when it was 98 degrees and very humid every day and also been when it is so cold, people were wearing winter coats and gloves. Been when it is raining a lot or not, so you never know, but typically, it is comfortable touring weather. :)

We were there November 9-12, 2013. We thought the weather was beautiful. Right at 80 most of the week for the high. Low humidity. It rained one day out of 8. Our 2012 trip was early June when it was so hot and humid and rained every day. November was so much better!!! We felt the crowds were lower than those in June also. MK, AK, and DHS had Christmas decorations. I don't remember many decorations in Epcot. We loved November so much that we are booking The same week for 2015.

Ok. So it sounds like this is an ok date to use. Would you say better than Dec 13th week? I do not do Candlelight Processional or MVMCP. Mainly I want to Osborne lights, castle lights and the Christmas theme to be present. If I can get all that on this Nov. date, then that is great.

Thanks for the help so far. :)
