What would you do in this case.....
Upcoming "just us girls" trip is myself, and two of my cousins. I own at BWV, but booked three nights in OKW studio, because it was the exact amount of points I had left (expiring 9/30/07). I recently purchased a small add on at BW, which will allow (if available) me to change the ressie to either a studio or one bedroom at BW or a one bedroom at OKW. However, in comparison.....

OKW - Good points IMHO: two queen beds in studio, boat access to SSR, POR & DTD (am I correct on this?), one cousin is big on Spa treatments, quieter quiet pools.
Not so good points IMHO: Not close to parks, have to cab around to BW & Jiko, sleeper sofa in one bedroom (are they comfortable?) can have road noise, very spread out, don't know if I'll get my request to be close to main area, I MISS BWV (but is that enough of a reason to move?), not alot going on at night for three moms on a vacation without "traveling around the world", quiet pools are too far from pool bar ;)

BWV - Good points: favorite place, would love to show them my "home", Jellyrolls, ESPN, Big River Grille, Bakery, atmosphere, walk to EPCOT (LeCellier & Illuminations, and I prefer the shopping in EPCOT over DTD), quiet pool is close enough to pool bar to keep the margarita's coming.:yay:
Not so good points: Have to cab around for SPA and Cirque (if ticket availability) and Jiko, sleeper sofa in either room type (are they comfy??), quiet pool not really so quiet on top of community hall sometimes and atmosphere of quiet pool isn't as nice as OKW quiet pools.

Rough itinerary: Use of quiet pool/bar, hopefully a night to see Cirque (only staying Sunday a.m. to Wednesday early p.m.), definitely a night at Jellyrolls, shopping, Jiko and trip to AKL, Spa treatments for my cousins, possibly EPCOT for dinner/Illuminations and shopping - alternative is DTD.

Just looking for different opinions because I'm really 50/50 here. Thanks.

either place -Jiko at the AKL is going to be difficult to get from. (although I am cheap - go to DD before I would pay for a cab)

if you just replaced some of the nightlife at BW with DD/PI - I think you would be happy at OKW.

as far as not being able to take your drink back to your room at OKW - hey I have done it!!!

but drinking around that main pool is fun too!

from the furthest room at BWV to the furthest villa at OKW to the pool bars - are about the same walking time.

the furthest away would be my favorite area - South Point and it is only 10 minutes walking to the HH.

you could get on a bus to take you there.

if you get in South Pointe you can easily walk over to DD/PI - just don't do it at night - some of this walking trail is in the dark.

you might also consider SSR - especially if you want to party at night.

First question - why do you 'cab it' everywhere? You can go to any park or DTD and catch a bus to any resort for spa treatments and dinners. I think the time you spend waiting for your cab would work out the same as a bus, and even if you had to wait ten minutes, hey - it's free!!
Regarding OKW - I find the studios there a bit roomier, and the extra queen bed is definitely more comfortable than a pull-out.
The boat to DTD and SSR is definitely a plus at OKW. Even if you take a bus from a park or DTD, it only stops at OKW (which is really close to DTD and MGM Studios). I believe the BW shares bus service with 3 other hotels - I remember taking forever to get any where.
Also, at OKW the Turtle Pond pool is great for a quiet pool if you're in the buildings close to it (where we always stay) - enjoy your drinks there. The views from rooms are great too - either peaceful golf course view w/waterways (we love feeding the ducks), or a water view to watch the boat go by (and more ducks!).
Also, if you're going to be eating out and going out shopping, etc. all the time, a studio would be plenty of room for the three of you, unless you need a full kitchen for cooking. I'd get a studio and save your extra points.
Either way, you'll have a great time - enjoy your friends, those trips are the best!

Thanks for replies, I'm going to put it to my two cousins as well and see what they have to say, I'm a die hard BW fan, and find myself swaying this way........

We cab it when it's just us girls. I have found in the past the bus to take longer than the cabs. We just call down to bell services 5 or 10 minutes before we are ready to go, they call the cab for us and by the time we get to the front door the cab is waiting. To split a few bucks three ways is well worth the time saved, and we prefer to have the privacy when it's just us. I'm also so used to having the car, when I travel with my family we drive, so we almost never use the buses. A stay at BW means boat or walking to two parks (our favorite two), and we take the car around ourselves. We usually have lunch or dinner at the Poly, so that's where we park and jump on the mono from there to visit MK. AK......we take the car, just DH preferred way, so I got used to not going in buses. Not to say I won't go on the bus, it's just not a preference when I'm with the girls.

Thanks for your opinions.....
