Want to try a new dinner location for CP this year - DH wants to be fairly close to the CP entrance. How is the food at L'Originale Alfredo of Rome? Is it worth the additional money for tier III? We've previously tried the restaurants at Canada and at France - both excellent.

We've eaten here several times, and never been disappointed. The food is very good, and the atmosphere is really nice.

It's a favorite with our family:D I highly recommend the signature dish: Fetuccinni Alfredo.

Thanks everyone - that was just the push I needed to finally make up my mind - Alredo's it is !!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

It's not our favorite.
Too many dishes have veal in it (which I will not eat). Without the veal dishes, there is just not enough menu variety. Granted, the last time I ate there and looked at their menu was about four years ago, so it may have changed.
Also, if memory serves me correctly, there was a lack of windows in the restaurant. I felt almost claustrophobic with the tightly packed seating and the lack of windows. Perhaps there is some windows and I was just not near them, I can't remember.

Good luck....

The first time I ate there (2000), I thought the food was great, but the service was definately lacking. However, I ate there again last summer, and not only had the service quality improved greatly, but the food quality had improved as well (is that possible?! :) ). I was glad that I had went back, because the second trip more than made up for the first one. As Micca said, the Fetuccinni Alfredo is excellent! I will not order anything else at that restaurant. :)

I didn't like this restaraunt. The food was average at best, the service was lacking and the seating arrangements are very crowded.

However, the atmosphere is wonderful! I would give it a try and if you don't like it, you'll know not to go back! That's the only real way to figure out what's good at WDW. Everyone has their opinions! :p

They definitely have great Fettucine Alfredo (I liked their bread, too!), but we have had such mediocre service pretty much every time we've gone that we've avoided it lately.

This restaurant should be tried at least once. If you're going to eat there, I highly recommend eating outdoors. The restaurant is huge, with seating fairly close together, and eating outside is SO much nicer.
Before they got rid of the strolling musicians, it was fun sitting inside.

The first time we ate there was either 1996 or 1999. We loved it. And we returned for a second visit. On our third visit in 2000, we saw a big difference in the food and did not like it at all. We have not returned since, but since many people do like it maybe the food quality has become better again.

We love their Fetuccinni Alfredo and think it is the best. We were considering it for the CP too but our bill is not nearly as high as what we would be paying because we both always order the Fetuccinni Alfredo and a salad. So I think we are going to try LeCellier for the CP but we will be sure to visit Alfredo's another eve because I can't imagine a trip to WDW without a plate of their fettucinni.

I wanted to add that I'm glad to see that others agree about the Fetuccinni Alfredo(whether or not we all agree on how to spell it:o ). I think that this dish may really make or break a visit to this restaurant. I have had other items there that I enjoyed, but the FA is the best dish. I also like the calamari appetizer but I acknowledge that squid is not for everyone--that's why there's more for me:)

The place is really pretty but I agree that sometimes the service lacks, and it can get crowded an noisy. I found the same scenario in Italy(the real one).

I like to give props to the place as it is probably the WDW restaurant we've eaten at the most since Epcot opened.

This is one of our favorite's at Epcot!! My DH loves the FA and I crave the Gnocchi. We celebrated my birthday there in July...I dare say that was the first time I ever had 5 Italian men singing Happy Birthday in Italian to me. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time during the same trip!!

Enjoy!!

I apologize to Alfredo's lovers in advance for my thoughts BUT we have tried it more than once and really WANT to like it since I love Italian food but it just doesn't cut it for me. Fettucine Alfredo is so easy to make and I use all fresh ingredients at home so I can tell that the alfredo sauce there is either bought ahead or made ahead. The service is hit or miss and it gets crowded and loud in the main dining room at dinner. I know everyone's tastes are different so if someone really wants to try it go for it but I would suggest lunch instead of dinner.

Gnocchi al Gorgonzola - potato dumplings served in a sauce of Gorgonzola cheese, rugola and walnuts

That is my favorite....YUM YUM YUM!!!
Last time in Disney (2002) we went twice during our trip and it is a "must do" again for this years trip!!

just had lunch there today...

the gnocchi in fact; I enjoyed it very much. And our waiter, Antonio, was a hunka hunk. That doesn't hurt, right?! ;)
