We are spending the holidays between WDW and Ft Myers this year. We have been looking at airline rates for Harrisburg to Fort Myers (which are quite a bit higher than to Orlando )

Does anyone have any experience with good rates at this time of year?? While the rates we are looking at aren't great, we are wondering if we should grab them now or take the chance they will fall.

Please share your experiences on this!

At some point this fall IF the airlines do what they have in the past, there should be some fares for traveling around the holidays. They will be restrictive with certain dates allowed, so you have to be flexible to make use of them. With the effects of 9-11 I can't say if you should expect it or not. If you can travel mid-week, and the airline will let you roll over to a lower fare should one come available, then book now. If they won't I'd just keep a close eye on it, but definitely book by Oct. Another option is to check with your TA if there's a charter airline flying your preferred route. Fort Meyers is a popular destination for charters which usually offer better fares than reg. sched. air. I used to be a TA who specialized in Disney and Skiing the West, then I worked for a charter airline as an airport ticket agent, so my comments come from that perspective. Check the fares OFTEN at the airline's sites as well as expedia or orbitz. Good luck!
