I saw a car that I really like. It caught my eye and that seldom happens. It is a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Has anyone had any experience with these cars? Either first hand or from any other source. I have had Chrysler products for the last 30+ years as I like the dealer and I haven't had any problems with the cars. but the selection from Chrysler is down to only 1 model with 2 doors and I only like the 2 door sporty models. But boy, did that Eclipse make me drool.

I love the Eclipses!!! That was my dream car from the first time I saw them.
I had a 94 for 4 years. The only problem I had with it was the tape player ate the tapes. I brought it in for service, left it for 1 or 2 days and got a whole new stereo. I would have kept the car for much longer, however, DS was getting big and my back couldnt handle getting him in the back seat anymore. It was time for a more child friendly car. :(
Good luck!

My first car was an Eclipse. Although I loved it at the time I got it, I realized that it was EXTREAMLY small later on. Fun little car to drive though.

Thanks. I am pretty convinced that I should at least test drive one. I know what you mean about being small, I used to have an MG without a back seat. Then my first child came along, and no way would everything fit in. But I did cry a bit when I sold it...
Now the only people who ride in my car are my adult son and myself, so the time is right for a little sportier car than my Sebring. Zoom, zoom.

Not sure if you are still considering this but.....

I really thought the Eclipses were very cute. Especially the convertible Spyder. I am in the process of looking for a new car so I decided to check them out. I fell in love with this new 2003 color and thought for sure I might make the decision for this car. Well I test drove it........The actual drivability wasn't bad, but the whole inside of the car was so very Plasticy. The dash, the air vents, the controls, everything was cheapy plastic looking. I decided then and there that no matter how cute the car was on the outside, I wouldn't be able to stand constantly looking at the poor condition of the inside.

I am still looking at cars, although I think I have set my sites on the Maxima SE. It is so much more luxurious. I have narrowed it down to the midnight blue, black, or silver exterior with Frost cloth interior (I know, everyone in the world thinks I am weird for wanting cloth instead of leather...I just don't like leather). It isn't as sporty as the Eclipes from the outside, but let me tell you, this has more horsepower than my SO's Grand Prix GTP! Plus they have wonderful consumer reports ratings!!

Back in the day I had a brand new 91 Eclipse (it was my first new car!).. loved it.. and also traded it in when I was pregnant with my son...
