Hubby was pretty iffy about Boma too when I first told him that's where I wanted to go. I had to talk him into it. But he was glad we went. In fact, I mentioned your post to him the other day saying how you were looking for a place to eat after your AK day and he instantly said Boma.
I think you'll find plenty of options - especially for the kids. If I remember correctly, they had totally non-exotic choices on the "kids buffet" area. I think I remember mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, etc. And even though it's geared towards kids, anyone can get items from there. No buffet police telling you it's for kids only.
