I am planning our 10th trip to Disney and because now we are going two families, want info and opinions for the most value acommodation we can have. We are 4 adults and four child. Is avilla better option than two rooms in All Star Movies? Thanks.

It depends on your families. When I was planning a trip with one of my good friends and her family I knew we couldn't stay in the same house as them. They are loud and talk constantly we are quite and we like to have it reasonably quite. I think that a Disney vacation is different for everyone but for us well I wouldn't be able to have my brother in the same house with me for a week but I could have my sister and her family. Think about how you are and how your other family is and the parenting you do and then make your decision. Good Luck.

Since I do not know very much about off-site accomodations, I will assume that you want to stay on site. Consider asking this quesiton on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions Board if you are willing to stay off site. Depending on the season, you can find some nice places at very affordable prices.

IMHO, two rooms at one of the All Star Resorts will be the least expensive on site option for you. This will be especially true if you can snag a discount. Keep an eye on the mousesavers site for discount ideas. You can request connecting rooms (with an inside door in between the rooms) or adjoining rooms (next to each other). Disney won't guarantee this, but they do try hard to accomodate these request.

If you want to stay together in the same unit, consider a two bedroom unit at one of the DVC resorts - VWL, BWV or OKW. Of these three, OKW units are the largest. All of DVC 2 bedroom units have a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms (one with a large jacuzzi-like tub) and a washer/dryer. Rack rates for these can be quite expensive. You may want to consider renting points from a DVC member. If so, take a look at the Rent/Trade Board for more info.

You can also consider one of the two or three bedroom units at Disney Institute. I do not know much about these, but there are generally discounts available there.

Good Luck!

Go over to the DVC rent trade board. There are many members renting points. A two bedroom at either the boardwalk or Old Key West would be so much fun for you all. Have fun exploring and take care, Tammy

Hi Minniemosa,
Don't know if I am allowed to do this but as you invited an offer here goes.
I have just bought a 3bed 2bath townhouse at Emerald Island, its a new luxury resort about 3 minutes from Disney (one of the closest). I am a private individual who has been following these boards for 3 years(from the sidelines mainly!) If you would like more info e-mail me on timothy.hubbard@virgin.net.
Hope I did not break any rules.
Kind Regards,
Tim.

Will you have two cars? If so, I would choose a 3-BR/2-bath villa, condo or home for 8 or more. This would give everyone a bit of privacy but offer nicer amenities than the All Stars. Since you are watching your budget, offsite is the only way to get this for a reasonable price (~$800 weekly rate, including fees & taxes).

You would probably appreciate the use/savings of your own kitchen & washer/dryer as well. Even just having breakfast & snacks in your room would help. With 4 children in the group, offering their favorite foods is better than spending for them at restaurants 3x/day. Feel free to write to me for specific suggestions, to get as close as possible to the parks.

I agree with the previous post our appartment will sleep 8 and I can do it for less than $800 and it will be brand new.

We were looking at different lodging options and we were really hoping to get another couple to go with us. We checked into this house that we saw advertised locally and it looks beautiful. If I recall they wanted about $800 for 8 nights. The owners I believe live in Sylvania, OH. It doesn't state it on the web page but I believe there is also a pull out couch so it sleeps 8. If you don't mind being off disney property this says that it is 5 miles from Disney
