I know somewhere I have read info on medical doctors such as years in practice, reviews, background info relating to malpractice & such. However, I am looking for the same for dentists, but cannot find anything except the site for the American Dental Association which only shows dentists that are members, but offers no more information than that. My daughter has dental insurance with Delta Dental through her job and needs to find a dentist that takes that coverage. We found a few in our city, but now she needs to decide which one. Any info is appreciated.

Have you tried calling 1-800-Dentist? I've never used them myself but I've seen a ton of their commercials. Supposedly they can give you background information on dentists including their education, years in practice, services offered, etc. I would give that a try and see if you can find one that takes Delta.

Can she ask people at work who they go to? A couple of the best dentists I had, I got from referrals at work. :thumbsup2

The North Carolina dental board or state dental association should be able to give you information. It varies by state, but most have a directory of information.

Don't rely on 1-800-Dentist. It is nothing more than a paid advertising service. Their only screening service is the fee they charge the dentists to list with them. The dentists write and submit all information that is kept by the service.

Best bet is to ask around among friends, neighbors, relatives or co-workers about who they use or like. Other local health professionals, such a physicians or pharmacists may also know of someone they would recommend.

Yes, she could ask at work, but she has been temporarily working out of town for a long while, but still sees her doctors here in her hometown. Therefore, the area she is working in is not where she will be choosing a dentist.

Thanks for all your help!
