Would it be possible to get enough points for 4 suites in a row at the same resort? Family trip with 16 going together. would any of this be possible???

4 suites? What size, what time of year, what resort? You will need to give more information in order to get an answer.

Grand Villas sleep 12, 2 BR sleep 8 (or sometimes 9 dep. on the resort), 1 br and studios sleep 4. You need to look at a points chart to figure out what you are looking for, and then look at the rent/trade board to see if anyone is offering that # of points.

I assume you’re talking 4 studios. You could rent them all from one person if they had enough points or rent each from different owners since they are technically all separate reservations. Personally I’d get a 2 BR and 2 studios if it were I. You are likely aware that at WDW, only OKW has 2 queen beds in the studios, the rest have a queen and pull out full. SOME of the 2 BR also have 2 queens in the second but it varies with resort and unit type except for OKW.

Yes, this would be possible. If you desire to seek a rental, be sure to visit our DVC Rent/Trade board. We do not allow soliciting of rentals on the other boards, however. Thank you.

Not sure you could get them right next to one another. We had 5 in January, all using my own points, and we were not even on the same floor, let alone next to one another.

Agree with Pakey - with that many rooms your chances of getting rooms close to each other are slim. Also, be VERY careful of renting points for a family reunion type trip. DVC rentals should be looked at as final and it may be impossible to rebook for a different date or to have any money refunded. Family trips often involve someone backing out due to another committment, or finances, or just not really being as invested in the trip as the rest of the family. My own family's trip (two rooms, my parents and two sisters) was rebooked TWICE and one sister didn't attend - being in control of my own points gave me some flexibility, but had we rented points, I'd have likely been out a ton of cash. And, you may say, 'my family would never do that' - one of the reasons we moved the trip was because my sister got breast cancer. There are things you can't control.

That's true no matter how you get the rooms and one of the reasons I mentioned getting a 2 BR as it does decrease the risk somewhat. Getting two 2 BR units decreases the risk further. Ultimately it's a request that cannot be guaranteed but overall they seem to be pretty good at satisfying this type of request as long as you don't ask for other things that make it difficult to satisfy at the same time.

We've gotten 2 2 Bedrooms at BCV in the past for 4 families totaling 14 people. We lucked out and got 2 dedicated studios across the hall from each other at the end of the hall on the first floor at BCV. This worked out great - even though we ended up with 4 kids in one suite and just 2 in the other! :rotfl:

If we go to 2 2BR suites it takes alot more points than 4 studios I think. I know you get more space and full kitchen. We are looking at 4 rooms at the Caribbean Beach and I am trying to figure out if we can stay in a DVC Resort for close to the same.

A 2 BR will be a little less than 3 times a studio but there are other benefits like a kitchen and Laundry not to mention the extra space and "luxury". You should be able to get a 2 BR for around double that of a moderate single unit for much of the time depending on specials and discounts. The risk is that the DVC unit will likely be non refundable while you could cancel the direct reservation up until a few days before. IMO, the 2 BR plus 2 studios gives you the best value and also makes it easier to get them closer. 4 studios at OKW will almost certainly be in 2 or 3 buildings. If you do 4 studios, I'd NOT do OKW and more likely go with SSR if being close is important to the group.

Maybe do 2 studios and a 2 BR so that you can all do laundry somewhere, and have a kitchen.

I usually take my whole extended family on a disney trip every three years and often have to buy extra points. disney has been very good to me for the last three outings. I have gotten two grandvillas and 4 two bedroom units and a couple of studio's and we were right next to each other on both occasions. we have 29 people. I also had a smaller trip with 19 people and we got three two bedroom units standard view and two studios all together. We always go the week after thanksgiving to get adventure season pricing and the Christmas decorations. It is alot of points some where over 2000 for one 10 day trip but oh what a blast to have everyone sharing the magic together. I could go for many weeks just my immediate family but we prefer going once every three years and blow our points on a big family trip and then take only short weekend ones for the two of us with any left over points. I never have a problem getting someone to rent me points when I fall short. I believe the larger amount of points that you buy from someone the better they will like it. The biggest problem you will have is booking too many rooms and then finding out that someone last minute is backing out. This happens to me every time we do it. Usually I can get someone to fill the spots but sometimes you are stuck with points going into holding and having to make another trip to use them up.
