Hi me and my girlfriend are doing a universal/disney trip for our college spring break in march. We already have the tickets but I just noticed how expensive the hotels are for our dates (3/3-3/6). I can only really afford like 99 a night and cannot find anything. I am a florida resident and know that the value rsorts are 80 a night but I think they are a little too kiddy for a 21 and a 20 year old. We stayed at POR last time and loved that but there is nothing in our price range right now. If anyone has any information that could help us please let me know. I am also open to neighboring resorts as well as universal resorts. Please help me as soon as possible thanks guys.

Awwww....come on now, I'm 40 and would think it's COOL to stay at one of the Pop's! :) I would check for availability and give it a shot! You can save all the adult romantic outings for a dinner out at Bistro or Le Cellier....Disney's about finding the kid in you...I bet y'all could have fun at Pop!!! :) The only other option I could offer is trying www.vrbo.com for condo rentals..you can sometimes get those pretty cheap...but then you have the commute to the parks and such...but it may be a good option for you!

DH and I are in our mid 30's and we love POP. We stay there whenever we can't afford a mod. Have you thought of staying offsite? There are some nice hotels just outside of the DTD area. Or maybe a stay at a DTD hotel might be good. There are usually some good deals on that hotel row area. We're going down for a convention March 7-10 and we're staying offsite. We do the convention and make time for Disney and Universal in between since we have APs. There are two big conventions in town that weekend at the convention center so prices are a little high all around for that week.

Most Definitely not too kiddy! i took my college roommate to disney last year and am taking my new college roommate to disney this year for spring break, we will be there the same week!

The value resorts aren't my first choice, but when on a budget, they're perfectly fine. If you decide to stay there, reserve it soon, as there will be limited availability.

You could give Priceline a shot for an offsite hotel in the area. I wouldn't try it though unless you read the "Hotel FAQ" at www.biddingfortravel.com

im 24 gf is 21 and we are so excited about staying at pop, i also went 3 years ago and stayed at ASMov and had a great time..so even if the ambience is kiddy at the end of the day its just a bed to sleep in the rest of the day you will be out so if you save money who cares?

I am in the minority here, but I do NOT like the AS resorts. We stayed 1 time at movies and the room was so small and had no ambiance. We checked in late and ended up in the building farthest from everything, which meant lots of walking. We paid $49/night for the room and it was worth that, but in my opinion not much more. You can get much nicer rooms off site for better prices. I would try DTD hotels or another offsite hotel by the maingate.

Me and my sister are also going for our college spring break. Before I booked our room at the Pop for 3/7-3/12, we were going to stay at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista for about $69 a night. It is very close to Downtown Disney, it has a mini fridge and microwave, and the reviews I read were pretty good. The cheapest rate I got for the Disney value resort was $119 a night b/c of peak season and I got 10% off with AAA.
