Need input from anyone who has gone on a cruise with Celebrity Cruise Line

Next week my husband and I are taking a cruise to Bermuda. I was reading their brochure and was wondering about their dress codes for dinner.
The cruise is 7 nights so there are 3 casual nights, 2 formal nights and 2 semi-formal nights.
My question, for the semi-formal nights they recommend a sports coat and tie, do they adhere to that guide line? or could you wear a sports coat and nice shirt but no tie?
My husband hates wearing a suit and tie, he knows he has to wear his suit for the formal nights, but is trying to get out of wearing a tie as much as possible.

My DH and I went on the Bermuda cruise last year. A sport jacket and shirt should be fine for semi-formal night.

Just a word of warning, the seas can be very rough to Bermuda. If you have any motion problems, make sure you take something with you.

In comparing Celebrity, (we have cruised twice with Celebrity), Royal Carribean and Norwiegen Cruise Lines, Celebrity is the line whose passengers most adhere to the dress codes. Most men did wear a jacket and tie on the semi formal night. I am sure you would be welcomed in the dining room without a tie with a jacket however.

Thanks for the input, if he gets too grumpy about wearing the tie so often we can always do the alternative dining.
