Hi--we are staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club Sea World in January and I have a few questions. TIA to anyone who knows and help us out.

1---what is the quickest way to Disney (even if a toll road)

2--My RCI confirmation has a unit numbr on it---which I've never had on an RCI exchange before. Since I will be requesting a room to accomodate a ecv will this cause a major problem---I will contact the resort at least two weeks ahead of time.

3---What County is HGCV Sea World in--Orange?

Again, TIA

A left out of the parking lot takes you right onto the ramp to I-4 West. Then you just follow the signs and select an exit depending on which park you're going to. Very easy travel, though the traffic backs up sometimes.

I'm sure they'll try to accomodate your unit needs. I'd call ahead and them remind them when I got there.

No idea on the county.

Sheila

HGVC Seaworld is in Orange County.

The route mentioned above is probably the quickest, but if you prefer to stay off I-4, another easy route is: Left out of resort, left on Westwood, right on
I-drive (International Drive), take a right when it ends at a T-intersection, and follow that road right onto Disney property (it becomes World Drive). Follow the signs to whatever park you want to go to.

I believe Sheila's directions should be modified to say: right out of parking lot (about 1 block), left at light onto Central Florida Parkway, on to I-4 westbound ramp.

Thanks--I'd love to avoid I4. This resort is further away than I normally stay but my choices were limited and I would choose Gold Crown and further than non Gold and closer--if that makes sense.

We will also be staying at HGVC Sea World, leaving right after Thanksgiving. It's our first time staying there, too, so if you have any other questions about the resort, let me know and I'll see what I can find out. Thanks to the other posters about directions, we can use them, too!

Thanks BreakfastatTiffany's. If you could post a report on the rsortI'd appreciate it.

I have a 3 bedroom unit booked--what unit will you be in?

many people here are happy at Cypress Pointe - it is one of the closest off-site timeshares near WDW. It has 3 bedrooms.

It can't compete with HGVC but few timeshares can.

We have a one bedroom (there's only 2 of us, with dd4), but I will post here about the resort when we get back. There are a few reports here about HGVC Sea World, if you do a search you can read them. I've only read positive feedback, which is a good thing!

1 - I4 is quicker but I also like Id - you can also get to you by turning right out of your resort - turning right at the traffic light - then at the next block (not traffic light there are two one for SW and DC) - traffic light turn right - you are now on ID. stay on it until it deads ends - turn right (left will take you 417 and the airport).

2 - HGVC like all the RCI resorts has the right to change it. they definitely changed ours. Mother also needs a ground floor room - we got one not a problem. this resort does have elevators. the view is nicer the higher you go.
but with a ECV I would difficult try for the first floor.

3 - I think it is in Orange not sure. It is in Orlando not LBV.

you know I don't think HGVC has any 3 bedrooms except on the higher floors - not sure? :confused3

We just got back from Disney/HGVC, it was wonderful! I used Spiceycat's directions for parks, as well as another poster's directions to Target/Publix. Thanks for the info! The staff was helpful and friendly, I had no complaints.

The resort was pretty, as I said, we booked a 1-bedroom. The rooms are nice, there are enclosed balconies, which we loved. There are 2 pools on the grounds, one is over 18 only and is located toward the back. We have a dd4, so did not venture there. The main pool is great, our room was one building away from the main lobby/pool, so we could walk over. The on-site restaurant had decent lunch fare, did not eat dinner there.

Our room was on the 3rd floor, but elevators are in the middle of buildings, so not a problem. I think my only complaint, small, but the "fully equipped kitchen" is a slight exaggeration. I always carry my own wine opener, handy, because they don't have them, at least our room didn't. I didn't plan on cooking much other than a bagel or two, but it was an odd assortment of utensils. Meat thermometer, spice grater, Huge soup ladle, but no wine opener. I guess if you wanted to cook a holiday dinner, you'd be in luck!

If you have specific questions, let me know. I picked up a resort map, it's still packed away somewhere, but it may be helpful to you.

Thanks for the review, we are staying there on our next trip. It sounds good and I will make sure to pack the wine opener!

We had a 2 bdrm lockout that we got from a friend's mother who swapped out her week.

The resort was a bit far for me (our last offsite was at Windsor Palms) but the trip was quick, even on I-4. The unit was very nice and we had a good location right near the pool and main building. Parking can be a bit tough later in the day/evening when others are back at the resort.

There were so many activities on site and they call and leave a message on your phone every day for the next day. We actually came back one night and did the "dive in movie" which was fun.

The nicest thing was the mid week cleaning. I thought it was only a trash and tidy but it was a full clean, which was great since our son had a small accident the night before and I had pulled the linens off the bed and put them in the washer before we left. We ended up coming back very late and thought that we would have to put him in the other room while I dried the linens but to our surprise, housekeeping had been there and had all the beds remade with fresh sheets.

Pleasant staff all around. A nice stay.
