Need info abput ING accounts

What is INGDIRECT banking?
ING is an online FDIC insured bank paying you interest on your savings account currently 2.10%


Account opening: To open your account you must deposit a personal check drawn on your checking account or authorize us to electronically transfer funds from your checking account for as little as 1.00$ As part of the account opening process, they will link your INGDIRECT account to your checking account.

Deposits: You can make deposits by calling or using our interactive website to electronically transfer funds from another INGDIRECT account or linked account via automated clearing house (ACH) entry or mailing a check. If you make a deposit via ACH entry, chech,draft or other instrument, they will generally make the money available to you after 5 business days. A 10 business day hold will be placed on your account as of the date of the account opening.As with all non-cash deposits to your account, interest will begin to accrue no later than the second business day following the banking day on which funds were deposited.


Types of accounts:
1)Individual accounts. an individual account is an account in the name of the depositer only.Only that person can make withdrawels or transfers from the account.
2)joint accounts. A joint account is owned by two persons.
husband and wife or parent and child.

At this time you can get a referral from someone who is already an account holder and when you make your initial deposit( can be as little as $1) you will get $25 you will not get the $25 if you sign up through the website you must get a referral and most of us on this board have them so just PM or email someone and if they have a referral they'll be glad to send you one in your email , you must give your full name and email address for a reply.Do not post on the board asking for a referral, it will not be honored.By the way, beside the $25 for signing up, you have 25 referrals that you too can give out and when someone signs up under you they get $25 and you get $10 so, that's $250 for referring people.

I too can be PM'd as to info on the ING accounts. I hope their special promo keeps going on, it is really a great way to save for WDW. It is nice getting a better interest rate on the funds too. When they first started advertising they were offering in excess of 4% interest on their accounts, lets all pray the economy starts doing better and we get that great rate again or better!

There is a thread 'sticky' at the top of this board with all the info you need on ING! It can answer any questions you have!

We are not suppose to ask for PMs or Referrals!

If you want a referral email you pick someone and PRIVATELY PM them with your first and last name and email address and they'll be glad to send you a referral email.

If you ask for PM or referrals, the thread can be closed and ING can be banned from the website like it was before.

Does anyone know when ING actually started offering this promotion? When did this first show up here on the Budget Board. Guess I am trying to find out how long it has been going on and has just about everyone here signed up that is going to sign up.

Well, I can tell you when I first heard about it right here on the Disney. I opened my account after reading the first thread I'd ever seen about it on January 9, 2004.

That thread has since been deleted and ING was banned for awhile (too many asking for referrals or saying they had plenty of referrals and people fighting over referrals) but it's back!!! YEAH!

Before that I'd only seen and heard about ING from the commercials on TV.
