Years ago I purchased MYW+PH+WP (NE), used all but the waterpark options. Got a 40% code, booked a room at POP and found airfare for $144.00/rt. (I think it was $186.00 with fees/taxes, but still...) I am excited to be going to WDW on a unexpected trip, especially since it will be for my DD's 13th birthday. I am planning this trip just to use the waterpark options, hang out at DTD, and maybe catch the movie/sing a long over at the campgrounds, hopefully finally try the kitchen sink, things we never get to do. I am having park withdrawl. We are only going to be there 3 nights and usually do the parks commando style. I am determined to make this fun without the parks, any suggestions? We are going back in September on the bounce back deal to do the parks so this is just a teaser trip. I do have ressies for Chef Mickey's for my DD's birthday so I will be getting my mouse fix. Any suggestions for non park activities? It will be my family of 4 with my 2 dd's ages 13 :scared1: and 9.

I know you are asking the questions here but I have one....I'm new to the whole Disney thing and I don't a lot of the lingo!! What is the Bounce back deal? We are going in a few weeks for the first time really (I went in High School but that was different...not the family). After planning this we may go back this summer with the extended family.

Bounce back was offered when we were at WDW in September with the free dining. If we booked for next year, during the same time of year, while we were there, we could get free dining again for this year! Hence bouncing back. I have never done it before, but if there's free food involved, I'm in! :lmao: Does this make any sense?

I think, but am not positive, that it is to increase sales during hurricaine season. Someone else might have more info.

Hi PiratePrincess, congratulations on your forthcoming trip :thumbsup2

Have you been on mousesavers.com or allears.net?

They have a list of free/cheap things to do and alot of them are outside the actual parks. I.e watching the MK fireworks and water pageant on the lake from the Poly or Grand Floridian or playing crazy golf at a few different locations around the world. DTD like you said, is a great option, I love to just sit there with my family and people watch! Also do you have a car or transport to go off property? If you have girly girls then a real treat might be to go to the Garden View Terrace in the Grand Floridian for Afternoon Tea, its really quaint and you don't have to spend a lot, if you order a pot of tea (or apple juice in a teapot for your 9yr old) and some items of the cart rather than using the set menu. You could then spend some time exploring the beautiful GF, walking along the beach or just taking in the beautiful lobby. If I think of anything else, I'll get back to you!

I'll check that out. Like I said, we are normally park die hards from open to close and just trying to fill the eves as the water parks close so early compared to the parks. :lmao: I have no doubt we will be exhausted though!
