Need ideas for rasing $300 for our trip to WDW

Our budget for our trip to WDW is $300.

4 nights at Fort Wilderness Campground in the value season = $198 (incl. tx)
All meals cooked at campsite = same price as eating at home = $0
One day at MK using GAD vouchers = $76.50 (for 3yo, who was too young to volunteer)
Other days spent at campground, DTD, or touring other hotels = $0

Total cost = $274.50 + gas (which someone has given us a gas card to help with that)

So how can I raise $300 between now and the end of Oct.?

My Dh was kind enough to get a morning paper route before work with all that money going to the disney fund. My kids also have paper routes so they use the money from that for their own spending money in disney along with sponsering a child through world vision.
Could you have a yard sale? Or maybe babysit a few days a week? Or is there anything in your budget that you can do without for a couple months, maybe cut back on cable options or trim a few dollars here and there. I take the number of weeks we have left and than divide the amount I need so I know how much I need to save each week to have enough. $300 divided by 8 weeks means you have to save almost forty dollars each week. That could be an eat out meal and a couple of coffee's.

Thanks for the ideas. I might look into a paper route, if my dh thinks the car is reliable enough. We have turned off the cable and don't eat out or buy coffee, so those won't help. I started a few weeks ago trying to put aside $25 per week, but only have $15 so far. *sigh*

I have set this evening aside to list items on e-bay. Hopefully, I can raise some money that way.

I'm not sure I can help with ideas, since I don't know your current lifestyle. I do want to point out that you should plan on a little bit more money for incidentals though. You are going to need ice for your cooler and some sort of fuel at your campsite to cook with. I'm sure you can work those into your food budget, but they are expenses you wouldn't normally incur at home.

Oh, and don't make the mistake of leaving without a couple of cans of very strong bug spray!

What about doing some online surveys? There are lots of reputable ones. I've used and gotten paid from Opinion Outpost, Lightspeed, MySurvey, Valued Opinions, and Mindfield.

Don't forget to return your cans for the deposit, or save up change for your trip.

Do you know some people who could use a 1-time house cleaning or yard work? Around here, those are $75-100 depending on the size of the house or yard. You need to make sure you do a thorough job which takes a little time, but it's a quick way to make some extra cash.

Sell your old gold maybe? Sell old video games cameras and cellphones to gazelle.com? Whatever you end up doing you get my vote for the cheapest cost per person per night that Ive ever seen on this forum.

babysitting. and if you can swing it, host an ALL NIGHT babysitting where you keep the kids overnight! I would have paid a mint just to have a date night with my husband when we could have stayed out as late as we wanted to and have a few drinks.

You should be able to round up a few kids for that.

Just how much would you pay for that? This sounds truly do-able for me.

Unfortunately, all the clothes we have were bought at the thrrift store and worn and worn. My gold was sold last year to pay some bills, except a few pieces I can't bear to part with (wedding ring, my deceased brother's baby ring, etc.).

Check unclaimed funds in your and DH's names in SC and any other states you have lived in, including your maiden name, if applicable.

Here in Texas, Chase bank offers $100 for all new checking accounts. (I'm sure it's about the same everywhere else.) There's another local bank that offers $50. So, we're going to open these accounts & meet the minimal requirements.

**Keep in mind: you'll have to put $$ in to open the accounts. You'll have to make debits/deposits for 3-6 months in these accounts. And, you may not really see the savings immediately, since you're having to deposit $$ upfront to open the accounts in the first place. But, if you can part with the initial $50-$100 to open the accounts, it's just free $$ towards your trip! We are looking at it as $150 free money towards our kids' college!

And another SMALL savings we have is with soap. I'm a germ-freak so we're constantly washing our hands. I bought the "sudsy" kind of soap for all the sinks in our house. Once it was gone, I just refilled it 1/3 of the way with reg. soap & then 2/3 with water. It's a fraction of the price! (And, I have to give ALL the credit to the Budget Boards) There's a thread that tells how to make your own laundry detergent & many other household items.

I didn't read all the PP's, but craigslist some stuff you have laying around the house that you aren't using anymore. Furniture, exercise equipment, toys, whatever. The money adds up pretty quick when you do that. Price it right and you will get the serious buyers!!

I have to agree with the on-line survey idea. I made $500 in about 4 months for my last WDW trip. Some of the ones that I have had good luck with include the ones mentioned by an earlier poster and ClearVoiceSurveys, InBoxDollars, OpinionPlace, SendEarnings.

The op only has a little over sixty days to earn the money. Even if she could earn $300 in that time frame she would not be able to cash out and have it in hand by her vacation time. Most of those sites have redemption times that take six to eight weeks for the reward to arrive.

I could easily save $30 on the grocery budget per week if I needed to. Eat out of the pantry and freezer and get creative with low cost but nutritious meals for the family until you leave.

I hate to ask, but if your husband doesn't think your car is reliable enough for a paper route, how would it be reliable enough to drive to Disney?
