Need ideas for head of a stuffed scarecrow type of lawn decoration

My DD made a cute stuffed scarecrow little girl out of overalls and shirt and shoes she outgrew. We are trying to figure out how to make a head for the little girl. We are going to sit her on a planter that is around the lamp post. Should be a cute little fall decoration once we figure out how to make a head.

We always used a paper bag stuffed with leaves. Your daughter could decorate the bag as a girl and maybe use yarn for the hair.

We'd love to see her scarecrow.

The other thing I have seen people do is to use a pumpkin that they decorate for the head.

I was thinking of using a pumpkin, DD wants to make a person looking head. I like the idea of making it look like her. I don't think a paper bag would hold up in the rain for long though. Especially if the August rainfall is any indication of what's coming.

Hope we don't have rain on halloween.
