We're going to be in WDW for Halloween. I'm starting to look for costumes for my 4 year old son. Almost every costume I see is long pants and long sleeves. He will melt!!!! Woody, Buzz, etc are all too hot. The only short sleeve one I could find was Peter Pan, but I'd like to give him more than one idea to choose from. Any ideas?

Thanks so much! :)

Pirates are easy- just a black or white tee shirt, a red sash belt, and a bandana on his head. Or go all out and put a vest over the tee shirt :)

We bought the Deluxe Jack Sparrow costume that came in the box. They sell it now hanging at target. The one in the Disney Store is made of hot flannel but this one is a lightweight gauzy shirt and vest. Then he wears his own pants and we have some light weight jeans.

They have Incredibles t-shirts at the Disney Store.

We bought the whole crew Pirates costumes for our upcoming trip. The Davey Jones mask is absolutely incredible!!!!!! pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Tarzan in a loincloth?

Ok, not really. It's just the least hot Disney costume I could think of.

My son went as Peter Pan when he was 4. That was pretty light-weight and I could add a short or long sleeve shirt, as the weather dictated.

You could make your own version of a Woody costume with denim shorts instead of jeans, cowboy hat, bandanna, vest, tshirt, etc...

I think that is what ds 3 is doing- we got a cowboy playset from target (it is very Woody-ish) and ds will wear a yellow t-shirt and shorts with the cow print vest, Woody hat, boot covers and bandana. We will probably also make a pull string for his back. 1 costume down- 4 to go, less than 2 weeks- ahhhh!

Peter Pan can be cool as somebody already said or Smee. What about Christopher Robin-not sure what he wears. Also prince charming wouldn't be too hot.

My DS13 is going as Christopher Robin-he'll wear a yellow polo, blue shorts and red Chuck Taylors(he really wanted the shoes which is why he agreed to the costume!) and I'll tie a Pooh beanie to his shorts. My Ds11 is going to be Sid from Toy story-made the black T-shirt, jeans(or shorts) and black Chuck Taylors.

When we were a family of four, we dressed as the Wiggles. EASY and COOL! Wiggles t-shirts which I made and black shorts. If he likes the Wiggles, he could just pick his favorite one!

They have a Lightning Mcqueen costume that kind of looks like a box that slips over your shoulders by two straps. He can wear shorts and a short sleeved shirt too! It's very cute too! I am planning on getting it for my son for Halloween this year!!!!!

Yeah, that over-the-shoulder Cars costume (or they have Rocket from LE, too) would be PERFECT but it's so big and bulky, it would take up an entire suitcase. :(

I was just at Old Navy yesterday and they had a cowboy costume which had short sleeves I think. Or I can help you think of ways to create one...what's his favorite character? (My mom was really into homemade costumes and she didn't really sew).

He loves everything Disney. I'm completely incapable of making anything, though. I'm useless in that way. lol.

When mine were little, I always tried to look for pajamas that "looked" like a costume so when they got tired, it was staight to bed. One year I dressed by son in Woody pj's, plopped on a hat and a bandana, boots, presto.......Woody. Maybe you can find some cool short sleeve pj's and a couple of accesories to go with them?

Cars would rock. You could even make it yourself. Take a carboard box and cut two holes in the bottom for legs. Then you cut two holes for the arms. You cut two holes in the front and stick flashlights in them. Hold the box up by glueing a pair of suspenders to the box which he will wear over his shoulders. Paint the box to be whatever car you want and wear matching colored pants and shirt.
