My oldest son and his GF are wanting to get married while they are in Disney World but have a very low budget. It will be just the two of them so very low key. He called Disney and they told him that weddings start at 4K ! Any ideas for alternatives would be appreciated.

Is there a group that specializes at just doing the deed at Disney with the Preacher and a quick photo or two like in Vegas?

they have lower cost weddings at the swan/dolphin.

also, they have the limited time offer for a memories collection at disney world. i believe you can only have 2-4 guests though. its $1991 and includes a few things like a bouquet....

call dftw and ask about memories.

If it is just the two of them and a couple friends here is what I would do.

The vow ceremony typically takes about 20 minutes. Instead of spending all that cash, just buy your pastor a plane ticket and two nights in a hotel and ask him to come down and marry you.

Then book a wishes cruise for the three of you, and a couple friends, tell them what will be happening, you may have to pay a few bucks more to get out there 20-30 minutes early... Get married in front of the castle out on the cruise, have your friends snaps pictures of it all, then watch the fireworks.

All in all you could do this for $600 to $800 bucks.

DH and I got married on Cocoa Beach several years ago and it was great! Not exactly a Disney wedding, but they can do nice packages for very little money and you're still close to Disney to make it a part of their magic. At least in 2002 you could be married by a notary in Florida. It looks like the link we used on line has been bought up by someone else, but here's a place to start looking anyway. Best wishes! http://www.cocoabeachweddings.com/

If the bride wants to get married in her wedding dress, she can't be in the park in her dress without Disney blessing the wedding (if you don't involve Disney, you can't get married in front of the castle -- and getting married in front of the castle is EXPENSIVE because it involves being in the park after hours). I agree with auroralark - check out the DIS weddings and honeymoons forums. The ladies there know everything! Congrats to the happy couple!

I wanted second this about the DIS Wedding forum. Lots of great information over there! :thumbsup2
