What I am trying to do is put together a scavenger hunt for my children. They will be 7 and 12 when we go to Disney and I thought that since we have been a few times, that if they had a list of things to take pictures of it would keep them entertained while we walk from place to place or during down time. I thought of a few ideas like taking a picture at the fountains in DTD, or take a picture of the sign for a ride. If anyone can give me other items, places, or things that would be great. So give me all you can :thumbsup2 I want to thank everyone in advance.

a photo of them in the same spot that you have a previous photo of them at younger ages

a hidden Mickey (or a contest for the most)

MK:

the castle, of course - maybe from an odd angle

pics of each other trying to pull the sword from the stone (by the carousel)

Lady and Tramp's pawprints in the cement (near the Italian res. on Main St.)

with their favorite characters' small statue (I think these are in a circular garden near the castle, but I'm not positive)

Epcot:

a photo in a "country" in which you cannot tell it is really Disney

in "Bruce's" mouth (the shark from Finding Nemo)

DTD:

a Christmas Card photo in the posing spot outside the Christmas store

AK:

A picture of each other as "bugs" - There is a hollow bug's head on a walkway in animal kingdom. You lean into it as if you are wearing a mask.

MGM:

on the star wars set - riding the landspeeder? (motorcycle-type thing)

in the car outside the Sci-Fi

Gotta sign off, but if I think of anything really special, I'll add it another time.

I like this idea!

How about:

1. a pic of all the "mountains" -- Space, Thunder, Everest and Splash
2. petting invisible horses at Haunted Mansion or the tombstones
3. wearing a different hat in each country in Epcot
4. from "high" rides like Dumbo, Astro-Orbiter, Aladdins Carpets, Tricera-top spin
5. the singin' in the rain umbrella at MGM

This is a great idea and I love the ideas given so far. I'm "subscribing" so that I can read more great ideas. When/if I think of anything to add, I'll edit my post. :wizard:

I thought of one more a picture of their feet at the pool/Ariel's grotto.

Wow! What a great idea and so many cool responses so far. I'm subscribing so I can get ideas for when I go with my niece and her family.

We went on a Magic Kingdom treasure hunt once in search of Captain Hook's hook. It took us throughout the park with a stop near POC to see Captain Hook and Smee. We finished up by riding Peter Pans Flight and my dn was lucky enough to ride it with Peter Pan.

How do you do the peter pan treasure hunt? Do you sign up for it somewhere?

Just to add to Epcot showcase pictures- my daughters went around to every showcase and took pictures with differant hats, shirts, mementos of that country. They also did the kid kot(which gives you a paint stick and a mask to color that is stuck to the stick and then you go around to each country to collect a paper momento to that country and a ink stamp from that country) and they asked at each stop why that particular object was for that country. You learned alot! They got the college kids that run the shops from their respective country to write things in their language and asked them questions. I was amazed that the countries did not mind at all for them to use objects in the countries to take pictures with.

In France they have pictures of them with a beret on and painting at an easel
In Canada they are wearing a heidi hat that makes them look like heidi.
In Morocco the attendant asked if they wanted to try on this expensive native outfit! They have some awsome pictures of them looking native there! The girl showed them how to wear the beaded items for head wraps and as skirts. They also took pictures with the people from the respective countries. I love the one also in Great Britian were my daughter is dressed up looking like someone from Scotland. I think we have a shirt of the Mona Lisa and it looks like she is wearing it. Mexico w/morrocos. China with pretty paper umbrellas. We had a blast!!! Morocco was the best! Oh yeah I almost forgot at Great Britain in the Red telephone booth. That one was great!!!! I got a picture of all six of my kids standing in there! I had to pose them a bit to layer them-shortest to tallest. You have to experiment w/that one because of the glass reflection. I think no flash would work better. Lets see we stayed at WL so in front of the disney totem poll. You can't forget Minnies house-best place for family photos! At Mickeys toontown of course. One thing I have to say. We did the character meals and loved them and saved time standing in line, but the back drops are better in the character lines. I am just a bit fussy about all the background in the restaurants. So maybe next time I will try out those lines, it can't be as long as it used to be because there are more characters and everyone is doing them at character meals. Any input for lines?

I had a photo shoot at the WL w/my little ones one afternoon! The idea came from seeing a professional photographer taking a family picture. Of course I used the same spot-great pictures!! I like a lot of the backdrops in Downtown Disney. The seat with the disney princesses, the pooh wall. I would take more pictures w/photopass. BUT still take your own!! I did have some that didn't come out good! In front of each park entrance with the name. I had to take one in MK when you just come in through the gates!!! When I was in 5th grade we went w/my family and have a family picture there! The back drop is the mickey ears in flowers and the sign for MK. We even put some kids sitting on the wall like in my childhood picture! Don't forget your room and resort-I didn't get enough! I didn't get a picture of the room before it gets lived in. You can take a picture of the restaurant sign or download them for clip art. I down loaded the clip art and then set them and the date on 4 x 6 cards and put them in as header dividers of each day. I also downloaded tons of disney clip art and journaled on the 4 x 6 cards and put them in w/ the pictures as memories. The kids like it, it jogs there memory and helps them remember things they wouldn't have. Well thats it for now. Hope you get the pictures you want.:wizard:

fuji It's been several years ago. We actually got six free tickets for it by being annual pass holders.:thumbsup2 I think at the time they were trying to promote the different specialty tours they offered in the parks. I'm sure if you call the 1-407-WDisney number they can help you. The tour group met up outside Town Hall in the Magic Kingdom. It was a guided tour and very informative and so much fun! If I remember correctly the tour lasted about 2 hours. The basis of it was that someone (Peter Pan) had taken Captain Hooks Sunday hook and we had 2 hours to find it or Hook would begin tearing up the MK.

Hope this helps. Feel free to pm me if you need more help. I'll search around to see if I can come across the actual name of the tour.:goodvibes

How about having them going thru the alphabet and getting whatever picture they want for each letter. It can be fun and creative. Maybe have a small prize for the best imaginative letter picture. :woohoo:
