I received a medley of calls this weekend of guests talking about $92 was too much money for them to pay per night for hotel. They need something cheaper. This price was the total with tax for the Pop Century. I quickly reminded (and repeated myself) that this was the lowest and guaranteed convenience to the wedding day events. They will be responsible for getting themselves to and from the wedding day events if they stay off property. I'll let them know where to show up and when. Otherwise, I don't want to hear anything! To help facilitate this, do any of you have any hotel suggestions (on or off Disney property) where the rates may be less than $70? :surfweb: Thanks!

Am I correct that your wedding is in December?

I did a quick search of the hotels.com website for December and set the filter for room rates $75 and below. There were several places in the Lake Buena Vista area that popped up, but the only one we have personal experience with was Best Western Lakeside. We have stayed there a couple of times when we arrived for our trip a day early. It is nice and clean, the rooms are plenty spacious, and it is relatively close to Disney property. The rates for the first part of December are showing up at around $52 a night for 2 adults. We also signed up for the frequent stay program so we get points if we stay there, which we can use for a free room later. If I'm not mistaken, they gave us a lot of points just for signing up. The only thing we had to do was agree to get their promo e-mails, which only show up about once a week or less.

Good luck to you in your search.

Yes our vow renewal is in December. My initial thought is good luck with that search (to myself). Thanks for the tip!

I booked my offisite rooms threw orbtiz or travelocity. I stayed at a great place last year the week of New Years for 60 a night. It was a sale. So I'd suggest to them that they do that.

It's not a big problem since you're wedding is outside of the parks so they can drive and park at the boardwalk. I'd suggest making a newsletter that explains the benifits of staying on Disney property and see if that may help sway them. Also as an escape bride you can set up a room block for 10% off the rooms.

My wedding is next year in September, and I've had dFi's family tell me they want to stay offsite that they aren't planning to go to the parks and don't want to spend $80 a night for it. I told them if they didn't stay onsite it would cause a lot of headaches for me with logistics and all.

Have you tried AAA? I know for dates around my wedding in December the AAA rate for Pop and the All-Stars start at $69.50, I can't remember if this includes tax, most likely not, but at least it's a bit better.

HTH :goodvibes

Not sure when your wedding is but this deal is being discussed on some of the other boards:

I don't know anything about the hotels but it seems like a great deal to me! Don't forget if your guests aren't driving though they will have to factor in the cost of a rental car or other transportation for their stay. I wouldn't rely on a free hotel shuttle to get me to a wedding on time!

Wow I'm all about staying on property, but wow :scratchin

Some of my guests made a big fuss about staying on property so they all stayed at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista and it was nice. They have a shuttle that takes you too the parks and it isn't just like once a day. Plus for like 33 dollars a night everyone was very happy!
