Need hotel reccommendation for Quebec City please

We (2 adults, 2 kids) are planning on visiting Quebec City 06/2010 .

1. Need recommendations for an inexpensive quaint hotel/inn that includes breakfast that is located a 15 minute (maximum, prefer 5) walk from Chateau Frontenac.

2. Also wondering if anyone knows of any web sites that will SURFACE mail us a free travel guide for Quebec City?

Any info. would be really appreciated.

Not Sure about the distance to Chateau Frontenac, but Super 8 in Quebec City is pretty good. We stayed there in 08' priced about 120.00/night with free breakfast and their small pool/slide combo.

While there... "scores" is a pretty good restaurant as well.

Well, what can I say. A lot of nice interesting hotels in Quebec City. The last time I went -last June with my DD, we stayed at the Hotel Terrasse Dufferin, right beside the Chateau. It was not too expensive I think and well situated.

I have checked the Clarendon also when I was shopping and maybe they can have an interesting package that might be right for you.

we stayed at hotel manoir victoria in old quebec city last june. the rooms were small but well appointed ( similar in size to a new york city hotel room) the breakfast was just ok. we found much better options just down the street.

well situated as we walked throughout upper town and lower town and only rented a car to drive to montreal for the day.( formula one race...not my cup of tea
