Hi there, i had finally decided to book our trip from june 14-24, but my almost 15 yr old daughter does not want to miss her last day of school, plus all her semester finals would have to be written early. I was now thinking of june 1-10, but am wondering how crazy that first week of june would be with the american holiday(i am from canada). We probably could not do disney until the monday(5th), but just wondering what you think it would be like the week we arrive...would we be better to do universal studios first, or will it be just as crazy there...thx

Actually, the earlier in June you go, the better crowds wise. Memorial Day weekend is over on Monday the 29th so many of the people at Disneyland due to that holiday weekend will have already left by the time you arrive on Thursday the 1st. Weekends anytime of year are busy at Disneyland. If you are really looking to avoid crowds and don't mind pulling your kids out of school, have you thought about earlier in May? But all things considered, I wouldn't think that June 1-10 would be unmanageable. We had friends who went the week following Memorial Day this past year and said once Memorial Day itself was over it was very low crowds. Most schools in the US generally get out more around the second week of June. Here where I live the last day of school for example will be on Friday the 9th, some districts in my area don't get out until the 16th. Good luck, trying to find the ideal time to vacation is always tricky!
