We would like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas in July 2009 and the 500 day booking is coming up :scared1: We will have 3 kids (14 months, 5 years and 11 years) with us so we are looking at a 2 bedroom. Do you recommend a 1 bedroom with connected studio on the ground floor or a dedicated 2 bedroom on an upper floor? Why? :confused3 TIA

you will not be able to book a location, so choose the accommidation that best fits your needs. With small children, why would you want any other than a dedicated 2 bedroom. :confused3

Also are you paying cash, through Disney CRO, if you book a 2 bedroom you will get the dedicated. The only way to book the other would be to pay for a studio and then pay for a one bedroom and you definitely don't want to do that.

Also what is a 500 day booking, never heard that with DVC bookings.

We wont be staying at WLV until next week but we have stayed in other DVC 2 bedrooms. We did not care for the 2 bedroom that was made of a one bedroom and a studio b/c it did not have 2 Q beds in the studio portion, it had a Q bed and a pull out. We also have children and were not thrilled about the door going into the hallway. OKW does have 2 Q beds in its studios so that resort avoids the bed problem.

We would not turn down the 1 bed/studio combo if that is all we could get but we much prefer the dedicated 2 bedroom units. The exception to this is when we take friends and then we like the 1 bed/studio combo b/c they can close the connecting door and have the private space with their own entrance.

Good luck with your decision!

with kids, definitely agree, dedicated.

you don't want the 11 or 5 year out in the hall when you don't know about it right?

so stick with a dedicated.

If you are looking at booking VWL at 500 days out, it is not going to happen. Even DVC members who own most of the VWL can't book a stay there until 11 months out from checkout. And if you are not a DVC member, I don't see you getting a chance to book at VWL until maybe 6 months out.

How many people do you actually have in your party?

I agree. I usually don't start seeing the availability pop up on the website until about 6-7 months out, although I was able to book a 1BR at VWL in January for September as part of the bounceback. You won't be able to book much farther ahead than that.

My question was answered when I found out the studio is only a queen with a sleeper. We need two queens in the 2nd bedroom so a dedicated 2 bedroom is what I will request. I can always find out the answer here on the DIS boards. :cool1:

Are you booking directly through Disney CRO or are you using DVC points? If you are booking directly, you may not be able to get a dedicated two bedroom.
