Need help with toys!

I need to buy Christmas presents for a 6 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. Can anyone tell me what kinds of toys are popular with these ages?

American Girl is really in but expensive. My dd is 6 and enjoys craft projects...

For a 7 year old boy, anything remote control is usually a winner? My ds is only 17m so not sure about that yet... lol

For boys, Legos, Bionicles (he's just old enough), K'Nex...

I have DS6 and he is into Star Wars and other action figures, fly wheels, magnatix and bionicles. He has a gameboy he is really starting to get into and he is getting a gamecube for Christmas this year.

My DD is a bit younger - she is 4 but she is into Barbies , anything Princess, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Barbie Vanity Head, Polly Pockets, Doodle Bears.

They both love their leapster also.

My DS is 5 and my nephew is 9, they both love legos, kinex, magnetix (basically any building toy), star wars, spiderman and batman, so a 7yo boy should love any of those.

A 6 year girl is easy (and fun) to shop for. Maybe because i only have a boy. anything barbie, my little pony, dress up stuff, princess stuff, dolls or bears, care bear, doodle bear, jewelry, hair accessories, etc.

My son just turned 8 this week and currently he is very into: Bionicles, anything Star Wars and the new thing by Megablocks called Pyrates. It's kind of like Legos and all pirate themed. He just about got everything for his birthday and he loves it!

Can't help with the girl stuff for that age---but princess stuff seems to be the rage at the stores, or maybe one of those real meal ovens (I actually got one of these for DS for Christmas, so it's not necessarily just a girl thing).

My 6 year old is into-pixel chix, tamagotchis, doodle bear, mall madness game, littlest pet shop, pollys....she outgrew barbies this past year, says they are boring and for babies...but other kids her age still like them!

Many girls this age love Fashion Pollys & Bratz Dolls.

Boys tend to love Bionicles (made by Lego).

You really have to be careful buying bratz dolls for kids though...many parents I know (including myself) don't allow their kids to play with them due to the fact they look like little hookers.
