Ok Disser's, I need a little help. I have always steered clear of Thansgiving/Black Friday shopping because it just didn't seem worth the headache. This year, however, TRU has quite a few deals that I can take advantage of on Thanksgiving (we usually wrap up around 3:30-4 anyway). My question is, how early do you think I need to get to TRU and line up. I am not willing to stand there for more than a couple hours, plus I have to be at work at 7:30 PM, so I guess I am just trying to figure out if it's really worth it. If I get there around 3-3:30, do I have a chance to get inside by 5? Will anything be left? I realize it's not easy to predict, just wanted to see what you BF shoppers have experienced in the past.

I normally do not line up more than 30 min or so ahead UNLESS you want a big ticket electronic doorbuster type. In my experience with TRU we have been able to go after target andget what we need/want they stock pretty well and I have never had to much trouble getting in just checking out :rotfl2: again it is not normally my first stop and I have no intention of going to TRU or any other store on thanksgiving day, if there are others like me than you should have even less trouble. Good luck !!!!

It depends on what you are going for. I went last year to TRU ,I got there 2 hrs early and the line just started wrapping at the back of store. I want to head there again this year and I am thinking of going around 2–3. I plan on eating at noon and DH will put kids down for a nap about when I head out. Last year it took me half hour to get in store after they opened since they were only letting so many in at a time. I got what I wanted and was out in 30 minutes. Last year I went for a train table. This year I have my eyes on those leappads so I know I need to get there early. Hoping to score the disney infinity as well but not the necessity. I also want to see targets ad when it gets leaked

The TRU in Portland has a very long line by the time they open and you are lucky to find a parking space. Usually I can never get the real "door busters" and the checkout lines are to the back of the store at every lane! Target and Walmart also have long lines but they stock plenty of the door buster deals so I am usually able to get a few of the items I want. I decide which store has what I really want and go there first a couple of hours before they open. The Walmart near me seems to be getting much better at controlling the crowds, having maps and stocking plenty of stuff! Good Luck shopping for bargains!
