It's been four years since our last trip and it seems like everything has changed SO MUCH since then. I need help planning our rides. I think our old way of thinking is not going to cut it this trip.

Here's what we would like to accomplish on our first day which is a Sunday:
Indy
Pirates
BTMRR
Star Wars Land (both rides)
Space Mountain
Buzz

Those are our priority rides with Star Wars given top priority. This is our first time seeing it. Star Wars was still under construction on our last trip.

We have Genie+ and will purchase ILL if necessary. We have no interest in Fantasyland. We'll take an afternoon break and return about an hour and a half before the parade to ride a couple things then take our reserved parade spot.

Second Day is the dreaded Monday we start at DCA-

Priority rides:
TSMM
RSR
Guardians
Goofy's
Screamin

Not sure if we want to do Webslingers. Does it spin? If so, I'm out. TSMM is my favorite ride in DCA and I'd like to ride it multiple times. Why does is have to be all the way at the back of the park?? We will hop right at 1 to make it to our ADR in DL.

I have way too much anxiety right now with all I've been reading about ride closures and crowds. I would really just like for this to be a relaxing, happy trip for our family.

I'm sure you can still have a nice happy trip, even with all the changes :) Is it a 2 day trip?

Your list of rides looks good and I bet you'll have no problem getting on all of those. Our June days were all rated 9, but with Genie+ we didn't have any trouble getting on rides except when they were down. The heat bothered us much more than the crowds, actually.

I'm sure you know the main thing is to be flexible and go with the flow if there are closures.

As soon as we were in the park I bought Genie plus. We rope dropped and did Big Thunder and Indy with no wait, but I guess that depends on the day. We also got onto Space with a 10 minute wait. Our last day was the day Pirates opened, so we didn't get on until 7:30 with a MEP. I bet it's alot easier to get on that ride now.

I checked Rise ILL until they had a good time for us to ride it. You could try to coordinate your Smugglers run LL with the Rise one. Galaxy's Edge is awesome, you'll want to spend some time there.

When we rope dropped DCA we walked on Guardians, which was amazing. Then we used LL for Incredicoaster and Webslingers.
We got a LL for RSR for 10:30. That line was about 25 minutes long even with the LL. Probably depends on the day, though.
We were done with all of the big rides by 11:00.

Webslingers doesn’t spin. TSMM spins more taking you to the screens. If you like TSMM, it is worth giving WS a shot.
Excellent! I'll give it a go. I guess I have it in my head it will be a little spinny because of the Spiderman ride at Universal. I know, it's apples and oranges.

This makes me happy to read. I know I will miss Maxpass and the ability to ride our favorite rides over and over, but at least I know I can do them all at least once. I wish there was a Genie+ "adult with no kids" option where you could pick the rides you want to ride multiple times to make up for not riding any kiddie rides in Fantasyland. The current set up feels like a jip to me.

Btw, yes, we have 2 full park days with hoppers.

Local tip; DO NOT rope drop RotR! It is a mad dash with those not at the front facing a near hour long wait NMW. The good news is the line drops back down to around an hour most of the rest of the day. You are much better off rope-dropping practically everything else. When we went we attempted to RD RotR, punted when we saw the line, then rode SR and BTMRR and grabbed coffee on Main Street before our friends (who stuck it out) got to the pre-show on RotR. DON'T DO IT!

This is exactly the advice I am looking for. Our tentative plan is to rope drop Indy, then do Pirates and possibly BTMRR before we do Star Wars stuff.

Are you staying onsite?

We just got back from a 5 day trip with park hoppers with genie+. You will have no problem getting all the rides on your list easily accomplished. We got really good at timing the genie+ and would get on 10+ rides a day hopping between the two parks. It’s pretty easy to do all the genie plus rides in the mornings at both parks and set up ones for the afternoon at the other park. My best advice is to get the genie+ for Indy first thing as it frequently didn’t open and we would then get an anything pass you could uses pretty much anytime anywhere but the paid LL rides and Peter Pan. If it does open it gets one of the genie rides out of the way that makes you wait 2 hours before you can get the next one. A lot of the rides were almost an immediate fass pass. Space mountain, Indy, grizzly, and guardians were the ones that had the later return times consistently. Our last day Indy went down so much we had 4 anytime passes to use as I kept getting a new return time once it was back open. If you get the anytime pass it doesn’t count towards your one per ride allotment so you could use them to ride TSMWM more times.

Even though you don’t have early entry you can still get into main street and get your genie+ going and check out the shops or get a bite to eat.

Order if Rope Dropping
DL

8-830am Space Mountain then Buzz
830am-930am BTMRR then Indy
930am-10am Pirates

The bolded part is good to know and what I had been confused about.

Indy breaking down seems to be what we will need to navigate the most from our list, other than Galaxy's Edge.

Thank you!

I had to pull up the park map to get my bearings since it's been so long. SO you're saying start in Tomorrowland then shoot across to Frontierland then head over and do Adventureland-New Orleans- Galaxy. I like it!

DCA- I totally forgot that the Avenger's campus is where Bug's Life used to be (RIP Bug's Life). It makes total sense to do that one first.I always just book it straight to TSMM because it's my fave. What is the WS wait like at rope drop?

Another variable: my family is already belly-aching about getting there at 8. Will this order still work if we get there at 8:30-9?

To arrive for rope drop you will need to get there at least 30 minutes before the park opening at 8am.

830-9am At DL You will probably need to choose between Thunder and Indy.
At DCA start at Pixar Pier,

I know about the 30 minutes thing. We've only done it a handful of times. My guys hate it and I love it.

Your altered starting rides are what we usually do. Indy first usually. In DCA the guys usually ride Screamin' first while we wait for our TSMM time to start,
