OK, I know I've seen posts about when to make your returning flight reservations after returning to port.... I guess it's human nature not to pay attention until it's a personal emergency :-)

We have requested early dining and it sounds like we'll be off the ship by 9am. When is the earliest I can safely book a returning flight from MCO? Oh, we are taking the Disney transportation to the airport too.

Thanks!

We always take the DCL buses to the airport, and latest I've gotten there is about 10:15am. That was this past December, without checking our luggage at the port. We were through security and to our gate by 10:15. With early dinner seating, you can usually debark the ship by about 7:30am or so.

The cruise line suggests allowing four hours between ship and port, but you can probably get away with less. Our flights home are generally at 12:30pm and we're always there very early. I'd say that anything after 11:00am, if you eat breakfast early and get off the ship when they clear customs, would be fine. You don't have to outright rush, but you can't dally, either. Anything from noon on would be doable without rushing at all.

We had late dining and ate breakfast at 8AM. early seating eats at 6:45 . Everyone was lined up to get off ship as we went to breakfast. We were off ship @8:40 and at the airport by 10AM.Our flight left at 12:30 so if you're off the ship around 8 or so you should be at the airport around 9 or 9:30. The buses are there waiting to go!!!!

Our return flight is not until 4pm and we also have the Disney transfers back to the airport. Is it possible after we get back to the airport to check-in our luggage and then take a Mears bus to downtown Disney for a couple of hours?

Do the airlines at the port (specifically USAir) have the capacity to put you on standby? Or can they only check you in for the flight you are confirmed on? We have a layover that I'm trying to avoid, and there's a direct flight that leaves only 10 minutes before our's does, so we're thinking of going standby, but the checkin at the port seems sooooooo convenient. Does anybody know? Thanks!!
