I've been reading the boards for a while and have gathered some invaluable information for our first trip to WDW with our kids, dd9, ds7, dd5. We are staying at POR Aug8-13 and I would like to request a bldg that is close to the main bldg and to a bus stop. Can someone give me few recommendations?

Also, it is not clear on the map if the bus stops at the from of the main bldg. If it does, is that the 1st or last stop for the resort. Any information would be great!

Bldgs 14, 15 & 18 are the closest in AB. Close to the bus stops, the pool, and the main building. As far as the bus stops, I'm not sure if they stop there first always, or if they go to the other depots to pick up. Hope this helps a little. :goodvibes

Every time I have been there the bus stops there first. And yes as tikkipoo stated buildings 14 & 18 are close to everything you asked about, plus they sleep 5 as these rooms have a trundle bed.

We've stayed in bldg 14, 15 and 18. They are all close. We like the first bus stop because typically that is the first stop. Keep in mind during slower times POR shares a bus with FQ and typically FQ is the first stop. We've often seen standing room only by the time the bus got to the last stop at POR. There are some mansion buildings (although they don't sleep 5) that are just a walk across the bridge to the pool area and then across another bridge to the lobby area. This is a large resort and so some buildings are quite a ways out -- including some in the AB section. In the Alligator Bayou though the bldgs everyone recommended are perhaps the best. Bldg. 14 is typically reserved for handicap people . And these buildings are two stories. They do not have elevators, from what I can remember. With your little ones, you might want to request a ground floor room. For us it made all the difference in the world. I would highly recommend the ground floor over the second floor.

We requested "close to the bus stop" because we thought we might prefer being close to the bus stop when we got in. When we went to the food court or pool, we usually had some energy for walking. When it was pouring rain or we'd been at the park for hours on end, it was nicer to be close to the bus stop. We had building 15, right next to the parking lot. The bus stop was across the parking lot. The food court was a quick walk; we did it all the time. Loved our location and requested building 15 for our next trip!
