I am new to the forum and planning my first trip to DW in March 04. I have decided to stay at Holiday Inn Family Suites but the best price I can find is $133 a night for kidsuite (their non refundable internet rate) after searching few well known travel sites on the internet. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get better rate?

My second choice is Comfort Inn Suite Maingate (priced at $56 a night). Any thoughts/suggestions on this hotel from DIS veterans?

I have enjoyed reading so many useful posts here. Keep up the goodwork.

Thanks

I just did some more research on HIFS on these forums and checked IC hotels website and found an entertainment card rate of $103 but under the rules it says "coupon/voucher" required. What does that mean? Please excuse my ignorance but is this related to Entertainment book?

Thanks

We stayed there last year and are going back in February. You will love it there. The entertainment rate is the rate for entertainment book holders. I believe that every state has an entertainment book that offers discounts to restaurants, hotels, car rentals and other servives. The book has a card in the front/back of the book. It looks like a credit card. This is the card that you need to show the hotel at the time of check in. I would just call the hotel and ask for the entertainment rate and then get yourslf a book. If you are not familiar with the book, do an online search and I am sure you could get one online if you don't know where to get one in your area. Good Luck.

P.S. We are staying there during Presidents's week and I got a quote of $95.00 a night.

yes! Get the Entertainment book for that! The book typically costs $20-$30 depending on the city so it will have paid for itself in your first nights stay. When you buy the book there is a little credit card looking card inside, just show that when you check in. It doesn't matter if you buy the Orlando book or one for the nearest city to you that offers one.

You can go to this page on Mary's site and see a link for $5 off and free shipping to order a book.

We have friends who stayed there earlier this year and LOVED it!

We just returned from HIFS. We wore there December 12-19, and are going back in October to celebrate my DS birthday. In December we got a entertainment rate of $73.00 a night however for October it will be $89.00 a night due to the price increase scheduled to take place in 2004.

Just booked for Feb 14th at 103 per night with the Entertainment rate. AAA was 133. Could the person who got 95 explain if they used any discounts or codes? Thanks!

It depends on a number of factors which motel to go to. If a lower price is primary, you will not be disappointed with the Comfort Suites. It will be about 1/2 the cost of HIFS. The HIFS is a good place to take the family. The entertainment rate is the way to go there.

But, the Comfort Suites Maingate is well located as well. It is on route 192, close to Old Town and to the World Drive entrance to WDW. The rooms are well maintained and it has a very good rating within the Comfort Suites chain. The breakfast is very good too.

HIFS is good as well.
