We are trying to plan a night out for ourselves on our anniversary (9/30). We are staying at ASM, no car, 2 children (DS9, DD6). We would like to go to Pleasure Island for dinner and some fun. We were thinking the Neverland Club for the kids at the Poly....but after checking the travel times in the Ultimate Guide....it seems we would be on a bus the whole time.

We have thought about Taxi's....anyone know approximate costs of that??

We have also thought about a closer kids club....any suggestions??

Has anyone tried this without a car?? Any ideas would be great to help us figure this one out!!

Thanks in Advance!

You have a couple of different issues here:

One is which style of Kids Klub would your kids prefer
Next, as you point out, is travel time,
third is the midnight "witching" hour, when the kid's clubs close and parents who aren't back turn into pumpkins--or their wallets do.

Here's the link to the whole property map:

If your kids (like mine) like action and a higher-powered program, then the Neverland Club is for them.

If more intimate and low-key is their style, then the Sandcastle club at the Yacht/Beach would be closer both to ASM and PI.

If they want more action, but don't care about the theming, etc. at Neverland, then Camp Dolphin would be another, closer choice.

In any case, if it were me, I'd use Disney transport to get to the childcare, then on to PI, making the trip part of the fun.

In order to have time to really relax at PI and to catch some of the shows, I'd take a cab back to the childcare. If my kids were tired, or if I had earlier plans the next morning, I'd try to negotiate with the taxi driver to wait while I picked up the kids, then go on to the resort.

We took a cab from PI back to AKL to retrieve the DD from "hock" and I recall it as being in the $15 range, but I don't remember the specifics.
