Hi,

Lets say that I want to go July 1-11, 2005 and stay in a standard room at AKL. Does that mean that July 1-4 would be regular season rate and July 5-11 would be value season rate. Also, how does this work when doing a package.

You are charged the rate that applies when you check in for your entire stay. The only way to get the value rate in the middle of a trip is to check out and check back in on a different ressie.

You'd probably have to purchase two packages, so you wouldn't be purchasing a package at regular season rate for the whole stay. And with one of the packages, you'd probably have to make it room only and add the tickets at check in, so you could leave off one of the days, so you wouldn't be paying for double tickets on one of the days (at least with the ticket system in effect until Jan. 1st. if you make your ressie after Jan. 1st then you can make the tickets for however many days you'd like.)

We've had to do this almost every year. All you do is make a continuing reservation - you don't have to change rooms. You just go to the front desk the day the rate changes and pick up new room keys. Everything else stays the same. Just make sure you tell the reservationist this on the phone - I've had a few automatically make two reservations, but several have made one reservation at the higher rate and when they quoted me the price, I had to specify that the season changed, so I'd need two reservations.
