Need help with choosing ADRs

Hi all, after reading a trip report from a few years back (Mike Jones - his trip reports are great! ) ive decided that I would like to have a breakfast reservation for Boma. I cant think of a better way to start a day at AK than a coffee in the sunshine watching the Savannah, then a hearty breakfast before the assault on that days activities

So, ive decided that if im going to go to the hassle of phoning to book it, I might as well do a few. It's going to be me and my 9yo son, so fancy meals in Le Cellier wouldn't be in the same league as a dinner with, say, Darth Vader or someone like that (if that were even possible). I want it to be something I know he will enjoy, so im thinking something like a character breakfast, a character meal, and another non-character breakfast or meal. 3 in total, plus Boma.

Im not sure though what to ask for though when I phone. He wont be interested in something like breakfast with Cinderella - so what other character occasions do they do? And in which restaurant?

Last year we did Crystal Palace which is with Winnine the Pooh etc and we also did Liberty Tree which was with Minnie, Pluto, Goofy Chip n Dale. We enjoyed both. This year we are doing Chef Mickeys which appears to come well rated.

I have heard that Whispering Canyon can be a blast so have got a ADR for that on my birthday (spending day and eve at MK and nipping over the water to WL for dinner), actually as it is my borthday we have also booked breakfast at Crystal Palace on the same day

Oh, did I mention it will be my birthday whilst we are there

Our friends boy aged 9 went to Universal and had a meal with Spiderman ! and that was so cool according to him. We did Scooby Doo at the Hard rock, and you can go there to The Kitchen and eat off the menu, so no park tickets etc needed.

At Disney there is a BIG lack of boys stuff, the only thing i think a 9 yr oold might like is Chef Mickeys.

I didnt realise they done character dinners, etc in Universal, ill need to have a look into that right away

We've been extremely lucky as well in that I have just found out the Star Wars weekends are on while we are there Im not into it much myself, but my son is crazy about it. Does anyone know if MGM Studios will have some kinda character meals with the SW characters? That, and dinner with Spiderman would be the icing on what is looking to be a superhero-sized cake!!

Sci-Fi is always a great option in my opinion, no matter what your age. Waiters/resses on roller skates, food brought to your 'car', clips of cheesy B-movies on the screen, what more do you need?! Not sure if you'll need an ADR though, we've always just walked up, asked for the next available car, and got in within half an hour, even with a family of 4 at a busy time. Maybe we've just been lucky, or timed it well though, I'm not sure.

Is your DS a Stitch fan, if so how about breakfast at Ohanas at the Poly with Stitch? We are also fans of chef mickeys - even DH enjoys it and he is in his 30's!
