need help with birthday treasure hunt

Help! DD turns 18 tomorrow. She requested cash for her gift, and that's what we're giving her. But I'd like to make it more fun than just handing her a card with the money in it. I thought a little treasure hunt might be fun, but I stink at this kind of thing. Maybe figure out puzzles to get her next clue? Any good ideas or sources?

How about putting notes in her favorite places..a certain book in the library (one no one in their right mind would look at)...taped under a table at her favorite Starbucks (let management know), tucked behind a certain plant in your nearest botanical gardens, ect.
