We arrive at Orlando airport at 9:36 am on Aug 9th. We plan on going to MGM/Disney Studios after we get settled in. Right now we have an ADR for Sci-Fi at 4:00 pm. BUT we want to be done in time to see the parade. I really think my dd and dn will get a big kick out of it. Now I'm thinking that's just not enough time. I don't want to make the ADR for AFTER the parade as I don't know how long the kids will be able to make it after getting up so early that day.

Should I (if possible) change our ADR's to the 3-3:30 range? And just have a very light lunch after we arrive (and if so, where, at MGM or our resort which is CBR)? Or should we make an ADR for a more conventional lunch time (again if possible, may not be)? If I did that, what time could I make it for and reasonably expect to get there in time for? We are using ME.

I Hope this makes sense. While I know the food at Sci-Fi isn't all that, my sister is geeked about it and I'm sure the kids will enjoy it. There are five of us, three adult women and two kids, age 5 and 6. It's the kids first time to WDW and none of us adults have been in about ten years.

I think you might want to try changing your time at Sci Fi to 3-3:30pm range. That way you can grab fresh fruit or popcorn or something light to hold you until lunch, then you will have plenty of time to stake out a good spot for the parade. I think the parade is WORTH seeing! My kids know the music to it and sing along as it winds its way down the street.

But you also want to have time to enjoy the Sci Fi. I've eaten there and had a burger and milkshake and it was very good. The sticker shock might get you, but remember, it's a dining experience! ;)

Good luck! I hope you're able to change your time!!!

Thanks! I think I will call tomorrow and see if I can change it to 3:00.

I do plan on ordering a burger myself! We're on the dining plan (not free though darn it) so if it sucks, we won't feel quite so bad paying so much for not so great food at least.
