First..I want to thank everyone for all the great information here...you are amaziing people!!
We've checked out most of all the wonderful places, (houses and condos) that have been posted. They are all lovely and we would love to stay in them...but alas, we are finding that right now...it's stretching our budget too tight.
We are actually going for a family reunion type gathering...and everyone else is staying at Orange Lake. We may do the park a day or two, but no more than that.
We need a place to stay....and it doesn't have to be so close to Disney, because we will have a car. Are there any areas that have vacation homes to rent that might be a little further away...and more affordable? We have already purchased our airline tickets. Our dates are October 25 throught Nov. 1st.
Thank you for any suggestions you may have. We'd need a least a three bedroom. Does anyone know...are the people who rent out from WH and alike....are they flexible with the rent sometimes? I mean do you think it's possible that they would rent for less if they thought their condo or house was going to sit empty?
Thank you all again....Barb:surfweb:

What price range are you looking for? We just booked a home for Sept in Sandy Ridge for $560 for the week. I have a few other 4 bedroom homes in that price range that I inquired about.

It certainly doesn't hurt to ask if they offer a discount, especially if the season is slow. I just started emailing and asking if they had any specials the week I was looking to book.

Also, if you aren't an obessive planner and can wait until closer to your trip, there are many that offer last minute specials.

Good luck!

and thank you...yes - that is about our price range. Is Sandy Ridge an area or the name of a development? Would you mind sharing the info with me? Or if you're no comfortablewith that then pointing me in the right direction? We'd really like to get it settled sooner rather than later....we'd get too nervous trying to wait it out and then being afraid that we'd have no place to go!!
Thank you again...Barb

You should be able to find places within your budget.

Another idea may be using these guys:

They only rent out Sat - Sat but that would work for you. Rates are as low as $399. /wk for Oct. There were still a couple of condos available. All of their places are in Windsor Hills (mostly condos). They are very legit. The places are nice and one of the other DISers knows them and gives them :thumbsup2
Everyone has had good reviews of their stays. But I would hurry if you want to do this because as you can see from their calendars, they are usually fully booked.
Oops, sorry and yes sometimes you can get a better deal from many owners if you ask for a quote or even let them know what you can afford. Maybe not the above guys but others.

I had a friend get a good deal on a 3 bedroom at Orange Lake by sitting through a timeshare sales presentation there. You might call Orange Lake and see if they have a deal available. Good luck.

Thank you - thank you my Disney Friends...
You are priceless!!!
We are checking and are so thankful for your help!
