Ok, we booked our resort and airlines and have DME set up. We won't use it going to the resort b/c we're getting a rental car for the first week of our 2 week stay. However, we will need it for departure since we won't have the rental car for the 2nd week.

Here's the problem ... we have a relative who is coming in towards the end of our first week at WDW and she'll be staying w/us in our resort room. Before anyone gets hyper, we are paying for her as an additional person in our room and are not sneaking her in! We want her to have her own room key and the ability to participate in EMH! We will be able to pick her up at the airport on Thursday w/the rental car, so don't need the DME for her. We're returning the rental car on Saturday and she's leaving Sunday. She will need the DME for return to the airport b/c we won't have a rental car to take her back.

The true problem lies in this ... b/c we are adding her to our room, CRO said they don't do that over the phone and we have to add her on at the resort once we check in. Fine, no problem. Finally, we get to the question .... will she be allowed return transportation on the DME? Or do we have to find alternate transportation to the airport for her?

Anyone have any idea or gone through this before?! Thanks for any help you can offer!

Warmly,

If anyone booked in the room needs transportation back to the airport, he can use DME on or before everyone's check out day.

It is actually easier to finalize (at least a day in advance) the return to the airport while you are at the resort compared with over the phone before you go. At least try to make the DME reservation itself 10 days in advance and get the name of each person you talk to over the phone.

Don't overlook the fact that your relative can arrive by DME also, what counts is arriving at MCO and having her name on the room booking before she gets to the DME welcoming desk.

Also don't overlook the fact that if your room booking is a package, your relative must be booked as part of the package as opposed to as an extra person.

I made similar arrangements for my son's girlfriend last year. She needed to leave a day before us. She used ME with no problem.
