Hey everyone hope you can help me out with some basic info.

Have an upcoming trip to WDW. I Have seen several videos of people in the parks where they are using their cell phones and videotaping as they walk through the land with what looks like closed in selfie stick holders. I would like to use something similar but I thought the whole thing was that those sticks were banned from the parks.

Can any of you experts out there help me understand what is being used in these situations and/or provide any product recommendations? (I know I could just get a GoPro for this I just really don't want to spend the money on that.)

Thanks in advance for your help!

No real physical difference in shooting with a GoPro and shooting with your phone.
(Except the phone will show you a much larger image of what you are actually shooting.
In fact, many GoPro users don't even use a monitor at all.)

You can buy a (rather expensive) anti-shake "gimbal" device which holds the phone (or small camera) more level,
and smooths the "bounce" out of many hand-held and walk-along shots.

Click HERE to take a look at some of these very popular and useful devices.
There are many dozens of clips on YouTube showing the results of using specific gimbals.
Just go to YouTube and search for the name of the gimbal(s) in which you are interested.

The gimbal unit does not extend like a selfie stick and is, therefore, not restricted at WDW.

This is exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks so much!
