How is that for selecting two totally different dining experiences?? :rotfl:

Let me explain, last year we dined at V & A. It was lovely. The food was very good and the service was excellent. After we got home I asked my hubby if he wanted to go back and he said that although it was very good, he was not sure he would do it a second time. I do kind of agree with him, once you have done V & A's it is hard to get really excited about going back. Just our opinion.

BUT...we have never done the Chef's table. From the experts here, is that a completely different experience?? Is it worth returning for?? How much better is the Chef's table than the regular dining room??

So my tall drink of water tells me that he is very interested in Blue Zoo. I should mention that we have many meals planned but only one night where we would like to go out just the two of us. Our son will be at the kids club at the Poly.

I checked out Blue Zoo and what's not to like?? popcorn:: Seafood, fish and more seafood. Sounds yummy to us both and looks like a slick place for a date :lovestruc

With only one night out as a couple...I am torn between two very different dining options and know very little about each one of them.

Any tips or advice?

Thanks, you guys are awesome :worship:

I may not be the right person to ask. We dined at V&A's last April and if the budget allowed another trip to V&A's - We'd GRAB it!!

If your opinion is that you can't get excited about going back to V&A's, I don't know that the Chef's table will be that much of a draw for you.

Why can't you get excited about going back? Food? That'll be about the same. Ambiance? That will be slightly different at the Chef's Table. Cost? That'll be MORE at the Chef's Table.

The dining room was nice, but so quiet/low key and after the second hour, my husband and I joked that there was nothing left to talk about.

The chef's table seemed very active, you got a peek at behind the curtain, so to speak...and the chef seems interested in explaining all the items. But keep in mind, I am going off what i have heard others say since I have never dined in there.

I'm not sure the Chefs table is such a "completely" different experience, but it is different in that you get to sample what's on the entire menu. And the meal can run almost 3 hours. Also not as "romantic" as you are in a working kitchen.
Were it me, I'd go for the Chef's Table in a minute. But then we do V&A every trip, so we always look forward to going back!

I'd do the Chef's Table again without a doubt. However, you have to commit exactly 6 months in advance, and VERY early in the morning depending on where you live. It also helps to have speed dial.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest Blue Zoo. If you weren't all that excited about V&A the first time, Chef's Table at the same restaurant likely isn't going to be any more exciting for you. Plus, my guess is it will be much quieter and sounds less romantic (if that's what you are looking for).

It's fun to try new places too. I say go for Blue Zoo!:thumbsup2
