I was all set to book our tickets for October tonight and I noticed that a 7:09pm flight from MCO to PHL gets in at 10:23pm. That is over 3 hours. Every other non stop flight from MCO to PHL is 2 hours and 25. Even the flight we are thinking of taking down leaves PHL at 7:09pm and gets into MCO at 9:36pm. I am so confused! :confused3

Has anyone else taken this flight home and is it really that long????

Thanks so much!

Are you sure there's not a stop? If a flight makes a stop but no change of plane, it shows on the schedule as 1 flight. Which airline?

I wonder if its got some 'fudge factor' accounting for the extra time.

Philadelphia is notorious for its flight delays, and with a 7pm departure I would imagine they may be banking on some sort of delay out of the gate/on the ground. By listing the arrival time later, it helps with the airline's 'on time' statistics.

Yes, I double, even triple checked that it was nonstop flight LOL and it is with Airtran.

I just don't know what to do. DS would have to get up for school the next morning, so getting in earlier would be WONDERFUL!! :)

I even just looked at SW. They don't have the same flight, but they have a flight that leaves MCO at 8:30pm and gets in PHL at 10:55pm.

All of their flights are 2 hours and 25 minutes. I am so worried, and I wonder if I do book this, if we will end up arriving around 9:30ish.

I would call them and ask. An hour is too much for "fudge factor". With AirTran, chances are they will change it by October anyway.

:guilty: I did and felt so stupid. The lady said that it was probably because that time of night there is more air traffic. But I guess only THAT flight and Airtran because SW and everyother Airtran flight is only 2 hours and 25 minutes.

For once I hope they do change the flight to earlier. Oh I just don't know what to do. :guilty:

I am sure it is for the ground delays in Phila. I flew out of there the other day and we waited 45 minutes to take off once we pushed away from the gate.
