Hi,

I just booked the Coranado Springs for April16th. Now I am not sure if I made the right choice and I am thinking about changing the reservation. I heard the Corando springs is not that good for kids and it is huge and there is a lot of walking. I was thinking of Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter.

What would you guys recommend? I am traveling with my 6 year old son. I like the idea of one of the Port Orleans because of the water transportation to downtown Disney. I also like the fact thet the POFQ has campfires, although I cannot find any information on this. What is it exactly?

If someone could give me their opinion, I would appreciate it. We are only staying on Disney property for 2 nights, because my mother got wrapped into this timeshare thing at the Hilton and she has to use it up by May 1st or she is out $300 buck.

Thanks for your help.

Ive never stayed at coronado, but we have stayed at POR and POFQ....POFQ is much smaller and therefore much less walking...plus the pool is geared towards young kids...my son loved the dragon slide

there is no sit down restaurant at POFQ but POR is a short walk away if you wanted to use theirs

I dont know anything about campfires....must be POR because I cannot see where they would have one at POFQ

Not sure how much help I'll be but, dh and I were highly considering staying at CSR for our trip coming up in May. We have 2 dd's 6 & will be 16 months when we go. I've been torn between POFQ (and CSR) since I've read a lot about FQ being so much more compact, the dragon slide being fun for younger kids and that FQ and Riverside share amendities, but after all the reading and discussing with dh, we seemed much more drawn to CSR even though it is more spread out. Of course when dh went ahead and made our reservations he decided to splurge and go with AKL instead of CSR for our split stay in May. While we are there though, we definitely plan on going to check out CSR as maybe next year we'll try it out!

Hope this helped - even a little bit...

Good luck and have fun deciding!

CSR has a great play area (the dig site) and pool the food is good at the pepper market but no geared for children the resort is huge and there is a lot of walking for food and the main pool dig site, as far as the buses there are plenty of bus stops in a short enough walk.
POR in my opinion is much nicer as far as walking there will be less but it is still a big resort but much nicer for children. I also think it is just a lot more relaxing and much better themed
I satyed at CSR last year after almost going back to POR I would have rather satyed at POR I do not regreat satying at CSR as it has a lot to offer but I would choose POR ::MickeyMo

Coronado Springs is Disney's only business-focused moderate resort. That was in fact the primary reason they decided to build it (they had enough high end convention rooms but needed a cheaper business hotel). You will see LOTS of conventions going on. When we were at WDW in February, my parnter needed a hotel with a business center and the CSR was the only moderate resort offering that. I had an interesting chat with a CM over the phone about why they built that hotel, it was very cool :earsboy: The problem is that you'll run into a crowd that might not be child friendly (the Disney with Kids book said this is one of the few Disney hotels where you might hear swearing by the pool)

I highly recommend POFQ, POR is alright but IMO not as nice.

Thanks very much. I ended up changing it to POR. POFQ was $59 more a night, so I went with the other one.

Thanks everyone!
