DD and DH are the two thrill ride people in our family, but both suffer from motion sickness. They do o.k. with roller coasters but anything that spins (like the teacups), is a similulator (like Star/Body Wars), or has a movie which similuates flying, does them in. Both want to try Soarin'. Has anyone had good success with any motion sickness medicine? DD is 13, 120 lbs, so adult meds are ok for her. Any tips would be sincerely appreciated.

Thanks so much!

I get motion sick on Star Tours and on other motion simulator rides....Soarin' was nothing. Literally. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with seeing the top of the screen or not--but it was a very very gentle ride IMHO. My hubby who does not like motion rides b/c they make him whoozy--loved this ride and he was a bit timid about it at first. I rode first to "check it out" for him.

Hope they enjoy it!

Soaring is a VERY mellow ride. I would think anyone that can handle Peter Pan can probably handle Soaring.

My three year old loved it. My mother who does not like rides loved it. My friends who are afraid of heights loved it.

No one had time to get sick, they were all too amazed by the ride.

I'm very prone to motion sickness and rode Soarin' without any trouble. There is a very short segment, about 5 seconds long, as you are making a banked turn over an aircraft carrier that gave me a bit of a problem so I just closed my eyes for 3 seconds and I was fine after that. There is a nice breeze in your face the whole time that really helps combat any bit of motion sickness. I wouldn't hesitate to ride it again (and again, and again)!

Not scary at all! Extremely pleasant.

I agree with the above posters - if you can handle Peter Pan, you can handle Soarin! :cool1:

I've done Soarin' both at DL and DW. My DH and I are prone to motion sickness. This ride was not a problem at all. It's a smooth, floating, sensation. The only thing we think is that this ride is too short.
