Hi everyone,

I just wanted to offer myself to give advice or information regarding the Premium Dining Plan. We have used it and its equivalent before and are very knowledgable.

Any questions, please feel free to post or pm me! :)

How is the premium dining plan different from the normal dining plan?

The regular plan offers you one table service, one counter service, and one snack per person, per day. The Premium gives you unlimited meals, recreation, VIP tours, and more.

The best part about the Premium is that you do not have to count vouchers or worry about going to a signature restaurant...it is unlimited so you can go to all signatures if you want or do all of the dinner shows and signatures. It is totally up to you!

We adore this plan....can't say enough about it...

Can you tell me what the difference in price is? I didn't see anything about this plan on disney.com but i could have just missed it. Is it worth the money for a week trip?

Nikkibelle,

I have a question...we're from CA and it's a pretty long flight to Orlando plus we have that time change issue. By the time we get to WDW, it'll be well into dinner hours. The day we leave, we leave early (grab a quick breakfast and we're out the door). Since we are give meals according to the nights we're staying (8) and not the days we're there (7), we'll have that one floating lunch left. Do they actually break down the meals into breakfast/lunch/dinner or will we be able to use that last meal as a late dinner one night?

Sorry, I think I rambled on and on and my true question is...on the premium plan, do they distinguish between breakfast, lunch, and dinner credits?

Thanks for the offer to answer premium plan questions. ::MinnieMo

What is the current per night cost for the premium plan? I see it described several places, but can't find the cost.

It is not an option for this trip, but I could see doing something like that once my kids are older and want to do the boating and tours and golf.

Just subscribing to this thread. I'd love any info on this also.

I'm not Nikkibelle, but I've going on the Platinum Plan (or whatever else it has been called) for well over ten years as well so I figured I'd offer my help as well.

The credits are NOT divided up by meal. There would be no problem using an unused "lunch" for a late dinner, or whatever other meal you wanted.

Pjupton - once your kids get older, this plan also includes the kids clubs so you could enjoy an evening/dinner without them while they watch disney movies, do arts & crafts, and play with other kids - and the tours and recreation are great too and many are good for the whole family.

Looks like it's about $150-200 a night PER ADULT in addition to room cost. Kids are a little less. If you planned on doing a lot of the stuff included - La Nouba, water parks, PI, tours, expensive recreation, etc. - it's a pretty good deal. But if you just mainly plan to hit the parks, it may not be a good deal. We rarely, if ever, spent $200 each a day for 3 meals. And you're paying rack rate for rooms.

We've done this plan in the past and it was way too much food if we used it just for food. My husband used it more for golf, which made it worthwhile. My son also used it for the water mice, tours and water parks. We never made it to La Nouba.

The nice thing about this plan is simplicity. But it's expensive simplicity if you don't use a good bit of the included goodies. If you want a wonderful pre-paid, all-inclusive vacation, this could be your plan. But I wouldn't get it just for the food.

DisFlan

I just priced our honeymoon with and without premium package and it came to an extra $138/person/night. For some reason I thought it was more expensive than that. To be honest, we have no problem spending almost that much on food in one day - forget about the fact that we are going parasailing, jet skiing, and taking out water mice. I know a lot of people budget less than a hundred $$ a day for a family's food, but when we are on vacation we like to eat - a lot. We need to eat $276 worth of food in one day to break even (we'd never get discount room rates so we're paying it anyway). I'll admit that sometimes we don't hit this but we come pretty close. We like breakfast buffets ($40), lunch ususally runs $60-70, and signature dinners are upwards of $150 - right there is $250. For us it has always been worth the $ even if we weren't going to do anything but eat and go to the parks, but we love watersports so we always end up ahead. Our last trip with my mom, brother, and DH we spent almost $1500 more than we paid for it.

I've got a couple of questions. I booked the Premium Plan for December for 8 nights. We'll be taking the "keys to the Kingdom tour" and lunch is included with the tour. Will that meal count as one of our meal credits?

Also in your experience are the servers familiar with the plan? Familiar enough so we won't have any hassles trying to use it?

Thanks!

Nikki - I apologize if I'm taking over your thread but today was a slow day at work :) Feel free to correct or add to anything I've said, or even tell me to butt out - I don't mind.

Wasabi - the lunch included with the tour does NOT count as one of your meal credits. Anyone paying for the tour gets that lunch (at Columbia Harbor House I think). You can either wait to eat until after the tour is over or you can just save those credits and add an extra meal on to your vacation.
As for servers being familiar with the plan, my experience is, it depends, however we've never really had hassles with it. We've had some great servers who go over the top and basically let you get whatever you want - add ons, milkshakes, specialty drinks, etc - and then there are others who stricly adhere to they appy, entree, dessert, beverage (however that is really all I expect anyway, extras are great when I get them but I don't bank on it). To be honest the only problems I've really had were when the server rings it up - I've had them forget to put the tip on or remove the wrong number of credits (always check that stuff before leaving) and it has never been a problem to get it fixed (maybe an extra 5 min). Don't worry - you'll love it!

Thanks! I'm sure we'll love it too. I'm not expecting extras (but it'll be great if it happens). :earsboy:

Sorry this took so long!!! :( No, they do not break them up into breakfast vouchers, lunch vouchers, etc. It is one pool of vouchers for meals.

No, the meal is separate. So essentially, you have an extra meal you can use to grab a turkey leg or small meal later on in the week.

When we were there in March, it was about half and half regarding the knowledgable and unknowlegable servers. Just make sure that if you do use the plan, to tell them before you order and also know what the plan entitles you too. There are no limits other than alcohol. You do not order off of a special menu either.

Fabulous! That's what I was hoping to hear. :teeth:
