My nephew was playing on some "jungle gym" type ladders made out of rubber tires. His clothes were damp and he has black streaks all over the front & back of them. I have tried everything I can think of to get them out, but they are not budging! You might know it is a favorite shirt and I would be one amazing Aunt if I could get it out. Just thought someone here might work at a tire company or service department that might have had the same stains on clothing that could help me out. Any thoughts are appreciated!

As an aunt myself, I feel your pain.

I try to soak oily-soiled items in a mixture of Oxy-Clean and Target brand hand-wash detergent. (Their equal to Woolite).

Sometimes it takes a few days of soaking, though.

I was going to paraphrase Jerry Seinfeld and say that if you've got tire tracks on your clothes, maybe laundry is not your biggest concern...and then I read the post and saw it was about playground equipment. Carry on.

Lestoil, without a doubt. You will find it in the household cleaning products section, not the laundry section but I wouldn't be without it and I never use it for housecleaning. Also Goof Off is amazing. You will find that at Home Depot.

LOL. A few years ago, the Dad's Dance at D's dance studio was Thriller, so we had to distress a zombie outfit for H. One of the things we did to his shirt and pants was to drive the car over them a few times.

:lmao: I thought the exact same thing when I saw the thread title!

LOL....I never thought about how the title would sound! I was so caught up in getting this mess out of the clothes, it didn't even hit me how crazy the question was. It is not really grease, but just black skuff type markings. I will certainly try all your suggestions. Thanks again!

Bed, Bath & Beyond sell a stain remover called Grandma's stain remover. It is a small yellow container. I used it to remove greese from a beige jacket and use it to remove a large ink stain.

Simple Green.
May take a few applications and washings, but it usually works.

I don't know about tire tracks, but Murphy's Oil Soap got out the black parking lot goo from DS's black, red and white jacket.

ETA: and an old tooth brush (or one belonging to someone you are angry with ;) ) Scrub it in and wash it out!
