Need help from those who have flown President's week out of New England

I am hoping to fly out of either PVD, BOS, BDL or MHT (can't say I'm not flexible, huh) on the Friday before President's week 2004 returning sometime late in the week (I'm flexible on this as well.) However I am SOOO discouraged with the airfares I am seeing. We have to fly Delta (my husband uses them for business and insists on getting the Skymiles) and I am not finding anything less than $300 and that is with horrible connections. Does any one know if I should have any hopes of seeing these fares go down?? I am willing to wait if I can receive some assurances from others that the fares may go down. Otherwise I'm wondering if I should take what is out there now?? I know there are no guarantees but I'm hoping to get some insight from others who have done this in the past. Thanks!!

Iwas just looking for fares same dates out of NY LGA/JFK/EWR. It is a very busy time of the year. American has some very good rates. My guess is that prices will not come down a lot. BTW I always fly out on Thursday night before President's the rates are much lower .

I would hold off a little while , but not a real long time. Good Luck

I can't speak for Delta, But we flew SW out of BDL last year for $146 RT. I booked when they went on sale in late Sep. FWIW, I usually watch fares in Feb (we used to go the first week of Feb) and there is usually a sale or two offered in the fall - sometimes sep, sometimes not until November. But if you're commited to Delta and fly them regularly I would buy the flights you want and watch for sale and get a credit when the sale comes out.

Go to travelocity.com and sign up for their fare tracker service which will watch for ups & downs in prices for you, and notify you via email.

We've gone for Presidents week the last two years. But we have flown out on the Tuesday before and the Wednesday before. I usually hit a good sale in July. I've paid $165.00 and $146.00. But I would highly doubt we'll see fares like that again. I've already started my daily check for next February but know I probably won't see any good fares until at least July. But I'll post if I see anything before that.
