Hello,

Anyone in the Lansing or East Lansing area seen, been by, know anything about this bed/breakfast place called Wild Goose Inn near MSU campus?

www.wildgooseinn.com

I am looking for a place to stay for DS graduation in early May. We currently have reservations at a Hampton Inn, but this B/B looks nice and is only a mile from DS apt.

Thanks,

herc.

Hercamore, while I have never stayed here, I have driven by it and can tell you that the website photo is very deceptive. While the photo looks like the house is set in a rather rustic, rural area, it is in fact on a busy corner right behind a strip mall on the main drag and smack dab in the middle of MSU's nightlife. They have also apparently added some "green" in that photo to hide the surrounding buildings, streets, sidewalks and parking areas.

The building is an old, small, updated home, and looks nice from the outside. I have never seen the inside. It does have a porch with chairs where you can sit outside and watch all the students going by, but I suspect it may not be too quiet at night (especially on a warm weekend night!).

If you want to be REALLY close to the action, this would be the place :rotfl:

If you are staying at the Hampton Inn in Okemos, that is a nice place. It is a pretty new building, and I do know people who have stayed there that like it and continue to return.

Hope this helps, and congrats to your son!

Hiya, Herc! I've never actually seen that place so I can't give you any advice.

The Hampton Inn & Suites in Okemos is pretty nice. We had a Jacuzzi in the room and there are several nice restaurants nearby. The Radisson in downtown Lansing is nice, too. It can be really difficult to find a hotel in East Lansing right around graduation time.

Congrats to your son! And let me know if I can help in any way.

Ok, thank you so much for the info!
Hi spinshady and Amy,
No, we do not want to be in the action, LOL. I think we'll skip the BB...kinda pricy anyway.

I am finding most E Lansing and Okemos hotels to be sold out for grad time. We have reservations at the Hampton E Lansing, 2500 Coolidge Road. The Okemos HI was sold out when I made reservations last month, and now I see the Hampton E L is also sold out now.

Well, I just found out my inlaws and sil wnat to come for DS graudation!

Any opinions on the Countyr Inn and Suites in Lansing. Appears to about 7 miles from DS apt. He lives near Cedar golf course on Michingan ave, north side of MSU.

I will see if the Radiisson has availibility.

I couldn't figure out where this place was then I remembered.

It was being remodeled when we lived in E Lansing. It is very close to the school and close to the night life.

I remember wanting to look inside of it because it had a ton of work done on it.

I'll ask DH if he's been inside. I think it would be fun to stay there.

Is the Holiday Inn Express in Okemos also booked?

My Aunt and Uncle live in East Lansing. Actually my uncle is a professor at MSU. If you are still interested I will send him an e-mail to get info on the bed and breakfast, but it looks like you aren't going there anymore anyway.
