Need help from good Googlers - grant money for churches

I've discovered that I am not as good at finding things online as I thought I was! I'm trying to find info on grants or loans to help fund new churches. Our church just divided over severe problems with the pastor, and about half the church is leaving and working on starting our own. If anyone can help point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it!

you said about 1/2 the folks were leaving. I assume from this that you actually have slightly less than 1/2 the people? The reason I ask this is that I would think that the shortest distance to some funds is the assets of the church that you all belong to and have paid to build and support. Did the other half get everything because they have more people and you have to start over. Any chance to recruit or bring enough folks to your side to have a majority? Any chance that you can negotiate to split the assets of the existing church so that you would have some "seed money" to start yours? Just a thought. sorry can't help with the google thing.

Every week (I think) or so the government publishes a Grant Proposals Wanted or something booklet. I took a grant writing class last spring and if I haven't tossed the notebook, I'll look up some of the information for you.

I kind of doubt that federal grant money would be available to start a church. If your church is part of a larger denomination -- Southern Baptist, Methodist, etc., you might try searches using that in the name to see if anything comes up.
