Just a quick trip report:
Wow, there is a LOT of traffic in Toronto. I mean WOW! I wonder how much of it was normal, and how much of it was due to the Canadian National Exhibition.
We decided to drive up Saturday morning instead of Friday night. We went straight to the Hockey Hall of Fame. It was okay. Yes, just okay. The kids (13 y/o) did some of the interactive exhibits. The virtual shooting and goalie games didn't seemed to work all that great. Ex. The pucks were coming out before the people on the screen had taken a shot, etc.
Enjoyed seeing the Stanley Cup. I don't know if it was the real one or not. Paid $10 to park right underneath the Hall, which I think was very reasonable!
I cannot get over how much construction is going on in Toronto! Cranes above highrises, everywhere!!!
Went to Tony Roma's for dinner. Never did find any Poutine (sp?) to try. Noticed that they sell gravy at Canada's Wonderland. I guess that would be poutine without the cheese curds???
The Hampton was very nice and clean. Shared a pool with the Homewood Suites which is also attached. Surprisingly, the pool wasn't busy at all. The kids swam that evening after dinner.
Headed to Canada's Wonderland Sunday morning. Very, very crowded. A very nice park, I must say, with lots of shade and places to sit!

Only had enough time to ride some of the main rides. Left the park at 3:00 p.m. Took 45 minutes to get across the Peace Bridge.
I can't get over how many different ethnic groups there are in Toronto! I didn't think we'd be hearing much French, but really did hear a lot of people speaking it (along with a lot of other languages, too). Dh thinks they may have been visiting from Quebec becasue of the CNE....?
I was surprised I couldn't get cell phone service. (Sprint) I just assumed I would be able to. Not a big deal. Thankfully, there were no emergencies where someone may have been trying to get ahold of us.
Did I mention how bad the traffic was?
