Need help for last minute trip

Ok, I've talked the wife into a last minute Florida trip. Need help with a couple of questions. Looking to be in Florida around the 28th thru the 5th.

I know it sounds crazy but is there any hope for last minute reservations at the Fort? Any strategies?

What is the best alternative for camping around Disney? Any recommendations?

acording to the Disney website there are prem sites available for that time period, its $111 for the days befor the 2nd and $66 after that.

According to another poster, you might find a last minute reservation during that time frame, but maybe you should call reservations right away?

Another possibility is Tropical Palms in Old Town. Good luck with whatever you can do.

Thanks to both of you for the info. I have been checking their website and it has always been showing no sites available. I took your advice and called and got a reservation. I am a little concerned about it though.

They said nothing was available for the 28th but I could get the 26th through the 5th. I went ahead and took it but we really can't be there until the 28th. Can I call back later and drop the first two days? I was surprised they wouldn't give me the 28th but I could get the 26th.

Yes, you can call back in a day or two and drop the days you dont need. I have done that in the past a few times..

There's something very wacky with the reservation system, as you've discovered.

I recently had to book 2 weeks just to get the 1 day I needed. I did that online and then called right after can cancelled the other days - no problems.
